copyright?

edit

Hello. This article is being nominated for Speedy Deletion on Wikipedia because of copyright violations. If you own the source content that this article was copied from, you need to EXPLICITLY state that you own the content and are releasing under a Creative Commons License (which is what Wikipedia is licensed under). It still might get deleted from Wikipedia, in which case, consider publishing it on Wikiversity, a Wikipedia sister project. It probably would not get deleted there. Wikipedia has strict criteria for what is allowed for inclusion. Michael Ten (talk) 01:14, 13 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have attempted to reach out to this author on Facebook and on Wikipedia to determine if they are the author of the original content of this, and if they are intending to release the content under a creative commons license. Michael Ten (talk) 01:17, 13 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I read most of https://madstudies2014.wordpress.com/2014/10/15/mad-studies-what-it-is-and-why-you-should-care-2/ and i cannot tell what parts have been copied. I searched a few spots to check and could not obviously see what was copied directly/illegal? Can you please elaborate some before speedily deleting this. Thank you . Hi, I'm new to Wikipedia, and I drew from the Wordpress page when I was creating the article. I restated the first few sentences on the entry, which may have been what flagged the post for deletion. Please advise on how to proceed. Ehfletcher90 (talk) 02:33, 13 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... (your reason here) --Ehfletcher90 (talk) 02:08, 13 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I am in the process of editing the article and will reword sentences and restate phrases to avoid copyright infringement. Ehfletcher90 (talk) 02:08, 13 March 2018 (UTC) ****Reply

If this must be deleted for any reason, please at least move it to User namespace of Wikipedia of the original creator and/or move to the Draft: namespace on Wikiversity - Yes, there is a Draft namespace i believe. Thank you and cheers! 🖖 Michael Ten (talk) 03:04, 13 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the G12 as well as a section which was a (cited, but to a Facebook group) copy of the principles. That clearly wasn't encyclopedic even if it was a permissible copy. The article still has a bunch of problems IMO, but I don't plan to edit it further. power~enwiki (π, ν) 03:56, 13 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Category:Ethics in psychiatry

I think that Mad Studies can inform ethics in psychiatry, so I think it might be a good category. I'm not feeling bold enough to add it myself. Please add this category if you agree, or a different category if you feel one of those fits better. Michael Ten (talk) 02:47, 15 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Capitalization

edit

I'm curious about the capitalization decisions regarding Mad Studies (i.e., not capitalizing it). Ingram (2016) distinguishes between Mad Studies and mad studies, saying the latter "has existed in many different times and places," referencing Nietzsche, Bataille, Blanchot, Klossowski, Deleuze, and Guattari. While these individuals influenced Mad Studies (as an academic paradigm) and discussed mad studies (i.e., the study of Madness), their work does not fall under the umbrella of Mad Studies. Thoughts?
