Dubious edit
Some of the stuff here doesn't seem accurate to me. Most particularly, this stands out:
- MacPublisher introduced WYSIWYG layout for multi-column text and graphics
MacPublisher was launched after Xerox Star, and if you look in the article for that product, you'll see an image that appears to show a Star being used for WYSIWYG formatting of a document including multiple columns and graphics.
All of this needs references. But some of the more contentious claims (e.g. first DTP program) especially so. JulesH (talk) 21:20, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Xerox Star had been doing WYSIWYG layout on minicomputers. MacPublisher was first on the Macintosh desktop computer, thus "desktop publishing" for $99!. References to two 1986 books provided. Bove, Rhodes, and Thomas say "it "has the distinction of being the first desktop publishing program for the Macintosh." Cmsreview (talk) 04:25, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- The Xerox 8010 (the host of Star) was a desktop machine, not a mini, despite its pricing being similar to the pricing of minicomputers. The first desktop publishing program for the Macintosh isn't necessarily the first DTP program, as the article currently claims. I'll fix the article to make the claim as you quote it here.
