editThis page is poorly set up under the ideas in WP:EL, but hell if I know enough to weed out the most valuable ones. Anyone knowledgeable about this stuff? --Ted 05:32, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
Magazine Review
editThis article feels extremely review/spam-esque. The advert template might be a better choice; no opposition to someone changing it if they feel so moved. I will provide a free-use pic of some M-Audio gear soon. /Blaxthos 14:51, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, I am not bad at coming up with material, I'm terrible about not letting my opinion slip in (this annoys my teachers sometimes). Being someone who uses nearly exclusively M-Audio gear, I can't help but enthuse. I hope my contribution will be positive rather than damaging with all this in mind. - No worries! We're very glad to have the contribution, and I encourage you to keep up the good work! Encyclopeadic/neutral tone and content is an acquired skill that is always a group effort; please don't ever let critique keep you from contributing! It's natural to write flattering things about things you like. On a personal note, I have just in the last few months started playing with torq and connectiv with my existing cdj800/djm500 and am so far wickedly impressed. I just want to make sure we keep things balanced and encyclopeadic. I'll try to work on the article some with you soon. :-) /Blaxthos 23:27, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
- Major re-write, I think this adequately addresses this issue. Agreed? synthfiend (talk) 22:25, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
Spring 2011 Re-write
editI've just posted major new additions to this article, and some re-writing of the original article (there wasn't much there to re-write). My current contribution ends after the "...Rebranding, Avid acquisition" section. NOTE: I AM working on the remainder of the article and another section to follow the "...Rebranding..." section, it just isn't done yet. I also have been compiling a fairly comprehensive product listing along the way, so I'll need to decide what the best way to present that is. synthfiend (talk) 12:21, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- Good expansion. I changed one header to be more specific: Midiman. The Distribution section is one I cannot figure out; it does not have enough text to explain what a German city is doing there. I notice that there are no positive or critical reviews of M-Audio's products... that could be a source for more expansion, if you wished to take it farther. You haven't mentioned any of the awards, either. For instance, the AV 40 took MacWorld's Editor's Choice and Reader's Choice awards in 2008, and the Quattro SB was a TEC Award nominee in 2002. Binksternet (talk) 14:43, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, added another section to bring the article mostly current. Removed Distribution section. Added comprehensive product listing with references, but it's probably overkill. Not sure if the product listing should ultimately be its own article, and yes, I realize it is redundant with the product listing that was already there. Open to suggestions. synthfiend (talk) 22:24, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
Users
editWho is the band Distortion? Are they notable? The wikilink does not take the reader to any band link. Binksternet (talk) 20:19, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- I really don't know. I found a list of M-Audio artists on the M-Audio website and used it to revise and reference the list just now. Great minds must think alike. :) synthfiend (talk) 20:50, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- Good fix. :)

Sale to inMusic
editAvid has just sold M-Audio to inMusic (parent company of Numark and Akai Professional, along with others) - http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/avid-sells-m-audio-551367 - http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4977372
I just added a small part about this, but were probably going to need to expand this aspect. Also, I've noticed that inMusic does not have a page. Considering they're the parent company of Numark, M-Audio, Alesis, Akai Professional and more, they might need to have they're own article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.93.29.229 (talk) 21:08, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
