Valtellina edit

The Adda does not travel from west to east (up the mountains), but from east to west down into Lake Como. And the vineyards in this area are located for DOC wines up to a maximum of 700 meters = about 2300 feet, and for DOCG wines in the subzone Maroggia up to max. 550 meters, in Sassella and Grumello up to max. 600 meters, in Inferno up to max. 500 meters and Valgella up to 650 meters.[1]. The minimum aging period for Valtellina Superiore Riserva is 36 months, not 48 months [2] see Articolo 5 at the end. The minimum alcohol content of Sforzato DOCG is 14% and not 14.5% [3] see Articolo 6. In all three wines, the DOC-wine Rosso di Valtellina, and the both DOCG-wines Valtellina Superiore and Sforzato di Valtellina, 10% foreign red grapes are allowed (see Articolo 2). The condition is, that they are not aromatic grapes and that the grapes are authorized for wine production in Lombardy (see Articolo 2). Opas Eifel (talk) 21:32, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
