Use in lawns?

In an episode of This Old House, a sod farmer brought in rolls of a type of tall fescue to use as lawn. I do not recall the cutesy name that it was called, but it was described as a cross between a desert grass and a grass from a very cold country (Iceland? Greenland? somewhere like that). It was especially good in drier areas as the blades had a waxy coating that kept moisture in and instead of the usual root length of 6-9", the roots reached about 36" deep. Writers, is there anything you can add about this lawn grass as I really am interested and would love to see some pros and cons. Thank you, Wordreader (talk) 20:46, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

Suggested move to Lolium

It looks like this has now moved to Lolium (via Schedonorus) (see Plants of the World Online) and I suggest we should changed the name to Lolium arundinaceum (along with the other Schedonorus spp.). E Wusk (talk)
