What happened to the synthesizer Jazz music that used to be on local on the 8s? edit

Hello there, I enjoy listening to the peaceful jazz music that made me happy. What's happened to it? Why is there there pop rock music with people singing on today as of 2012? I miss the jazz music and the instrumental rock music. Why has the Weather Channel done away with Jazz music? I find pop rock music of the 1990s and 2000s and 2010s uninteresting. I don't enjoy the pop rock music. It feels like it has become an MTV TV channel. Anyways I enjoyed Kurt Bestor, Jeff Lorber, Brian Hughes, Trammel Starks, you get the idea. The Weather Channel doesn't play those songs on local on the 8s anymore. I can't enjoy the current singing rock music because I'm not used to it and I never will be used to it in fact it bores me and annoys me. Anyways please respond to this question.

March/April 2018 edit

The Weather Channel has changed its "Local on the 8's" format. It is not always the full 'window' but just the LDL and part of the right sidebar.

Earlier this year, especially during 1/2 to hour programs and special storm coverage, there are no "Local on the 8's" --- and I've turned to the channel 2-3 minutes before and stay up to 5 minutes after; and nothing!

Of course, this may be limited to certain markets, like Phoenix, AZ.

But I'd like to know why this change.

I'm rather sure that I'm not the only viewer who likes and prefers the full 'window' format.

I think this change should be included in the entry/article. 2600:8800:785:1300:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 12:22, 14 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I’ve noticed that “Local on the 8’s” now airs only twice each hour—at or about :18 and :48. —Glenn L (talk) 13:55, 26 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
