I don't know about the USA, but in the UK a loading bay is something much more general. They are found in factories, supermarkets, anywhere that goods are delivered on a large scale. Is it really limited to a theatrical context elsewhere? Deb19:58, 10 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
It's not at all limited, perhaps this is a specific case and should be designated 'Loading bay (theater)' Your point is well taken. Writing a general article would be great, I just wrote this much for the category 'Parts of a theatre' because it was severely lacking.
