Why "epic"? --JerryFriedman 00:15, 20 Jul 2004 (UTC)

(William M. Connolley 18:41, 27 Jul 2004 (UTC)) Because its long and boring (in the last 2/3).
It is generally considered one of the masterpieces of modern fantasy. Whether you find it boring depends on your attention span ;o).--MWAK 13:55, 6 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
There's no hard-and-fast standard for "epic", but I would say that a novel which features five (or six) generations of a family encompassed in one plot qualifies under just about any definition. --7Kim 22:14, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Call for sources?

edit

Just what is it in the article that needs to be sourced? The refence to the Bloom book ... anything else?

Do the awards have to be sourced as well?

Seems like tagging the entire article is a little steep, especially since most of the material of the article is derived from the book itself and full data on that is in the infobox. --7Kim 22:18, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree. GlassFET 15:04, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Is there any reason that Sylvie's disappearance and Auberon's alcoholism are relegated to a character description instead of being in the summary? —JerryFriedman (Talk) 03:27, 15 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
