Locator map
editOne or more locator maps would improve this article. Here is a starter. --Teratornis (talk) 19:04, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
- I finally got round to having a go, but the sites are clusterd in a few areas, I don't think it's useful. See User:ScottDavis/sandbox3 version --Scott Davis Talk 12:07, 28 August 2019 (UTC)

Cancelled proposals
editDo we have a guideline on whether cancelled proposals should be removed after a period? I have put {{prod}} on Myponga Wind Farm which is in this list but the proponents abandoned the proposal in 2009 and the planning approval was revoked in 2011. It does not appear to have been independently notable (like Chowilla Dam for example). If nobody objects to the deletion of the article, should it just be unlinked here or removed completely? Thanks. --Scott Davis Talk 23:03, 7 August 2019 (UTC)
- I've merged the content (which is veriable) into Wind power in South Australia and added a section for cancelled proposals, and changed the Myponga page to a redirect. Bookscale (talk) 00:29, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
- The page is getting quite clogged with projects that aren't verifiable. Perhaps we leave the cancelled projects like Hallett 3 and Keyneton and remove the rest? DiamondIIIXX (talk) 00:02, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
Locator Map
edit@ScottDavis: Image I feel like the locator map is kind of broken. Perhaps we could try to rework the other locator map (above, in the talk page) - I have a version on my sandbox too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:DiamondIIIXX/sandbox DiamondIIIXX (talk) 11:32, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- I agree it needs to be improved. Colour coding the status is good (your sandbox colours are too similar on my screen, but that's a later minor issue). Your example uses a template that requires the coordinates to be retyped there separate to the ones in the table, which creates an ongoing maintenance concern. You have chosen a larger map, which helps, and smaller markers (which I couldn't work out how to change on the one presently on the page).
- The current map can be opened to full window, at which time it is then pan and zoomable, and the markers can be clicked to see a popup label (but not a link at present).
- I'm also not sure if the cancelled projects should remain on the list (and map) forever or what criteria should be used for removal. There is value in seeing the places that have had serious proposals, and the references for their cancellation, but also value in a decluttered presentation. Ideally, active content where cancelled and proposed can be independent layers to be shown or hidden as required by the reader would make the map more useful to more people. I haven't seen an example of that in Wikipedia though. --Scott Davis Talk 12:44, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
