Name change perhaps?
editIs this supposed to be a list of universities only, or should it include colleges? If so, the name of the article should be changed. --Ronaldo Guevara 11:32, 6 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Emilio Aguinaldo College
editHi! I noticed that the link from Emilio Aguinaldo College in this list will lead you to the biography of a Philippine hero whom the College was named from and not a link to a university or a college. Perhaps somebody could help. Thank you! Fddfred 07:58, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
List
editThe list of colleges and universities is very vague. It needs further revision. Isko1901 (talk) 04:50, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

List of universities and colleges in the Philippines → List of universities in the Philippines — This is the standard name for such lists, used e.g. by the Asia templates. Cannot do it myself because the destination title is a non-recent redirect with 2 edits to it. -- Pgallert (talk) 13:56, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose The convention of Category:Universities and colleges is to keep universities and colleges together, and since this list includes both universities and colleges, the proposed new name would not accurately describe its contents. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 16:30, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

i propose deletion of this article
editI think this article doesn't belong to Wikipedia at all. It looks more like a directory and a disorganized list prone to random vandalism. This article is very much better suited for WikiPilipinas instead. Zollerriia63 (talk) 07:10, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Reformat and Update
editI will be updating the list to that of CHED's List of Higher Education Institutions AY 2021-2022 (https://ched.gov.ph/list-of-higher-education-institutions-2/). That is the latest authoritative list that I can find right now. I will group the institutions by region in table format with the following details: Name, Type (LUC, OGS, Private HEI, SUC Main, SUC Satellite - based on that list), Location, Year established, Year granted university status, Autonomous/Deregulated Status (per CHED's CMO no. 46 s. 2012 section 25) whether Autonomous (by evaluation), Autonomous (by legislation), Deregulated (by evaluation) or Regulated. This will replace the current alphabetical order format for the whole list. --JinJian (talk) 00:35, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
