Universities without evidence

edit

I couldn't find any information about the list items "International Open University Gambia", "Al Hikmah University Gambia", "Al Ihsan University Gambia" and "Amadou Institute of Science and Technology".

However, there is an Al-Hikmah-University in Nigeria and a Darul-Ihsan-University in Bangladesh.

Also, there's the "Suna Institute of Science and Technology (SIST)" with Amadou Barrow as Head of Department of Information Communication Technology, so maybe this is meant to be the "Amadou Institute of Science and Technology" (which was also misplaced at the end of the page?).

For now, I think I'm going to remove "Al Hikmah University Gambia", "Al Ihsan University Gambia" and "International Open University Gambia" from the list and replace "Amadou Institute of Science and Technology" by "Suna Institute of Science and Technology (SIST)", although I'm not sure about its status as a "university/college".

By the way: https://accessgambia.com/extra/higher-education-institutions.html might be a great resource for institutions of higher education in Gambia, but I'm not sure if it can be an official source? Maybe I should add only institutions from there that have an active website or are addressed in news sites like The Point (the Gambia).

Distinction of universities

edit

As it stands, the only actual universities seem to be American International University West Africa, EUCLID (university) and University of the Gambia, which all have their own articles.

The International Community College seems to be a college. I also found The Gambia College, which I would like to add (it already as a German article, that I might translate).

I'm unclear about the status of the Legacy University Gambia (LUGA) and the Suna Institute of Science and Technology (SIST). Both seem to be private, and call themselves "educational institutions". I'm not sure about removing them.

I'd propose to add the sections "Colleges" and "Other institutions" like for List_of_universities_in_the_Democratic_Republic_of_the_Congo. I'm not sure if this is overkill or even inaccurate, but maybe this can be a starting point.
