Untitled edit

REMOVED *"Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinead O'Connor

She had 13 Top 30 singles and 3 in the Top 10. She can't be considered a One-hit wonder.

REMOVED *"Crazy World" by Aslan (released 1993, re-released 1998)

Aslan had another hit called "This Is" though I can't remember what chat position it got to. This is from their website "They released a demo single, 'This Is', in the Spring of 1986, which was a huge hit and became the longest ever play-listed single on Ireland's pop radio station, RTÉ 2fm."

Chart edit

What are the criteria for inclusion in this article? Is it based on the Irish Singles Chart? --Metropolitan90 (talk) 05:16, 25 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes it's based on the Irish singles chart, the artist must be from Ireland and have only one entry on the chart to appear however this page One-hit wonder says "with only one top 20 hit",but I consider top 40 to be a hit mainly because of chart shows. --DanTheMusicMan2 (talk) 13:46, 24 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Top 30? edit

The cutoff is top 30 as top 31 - 40 hits missing here http://www.irishcharts.ie/search/placement by Lea Heart and CMAT that can be found on here https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/irish-singles-chart/ DanTheMusicMan2 (talk) 15:19, 8 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

"Essemble" edit

There is a section in the article labeled "Essemble", which I don't recognize as a word. I think this is supposed to say something like "Ensemble", but it should probably be labeled as "One-time collaborations" or something like that to explain why the songs in that section are listed there.

Also, the first two entries in that section are:

But the Ireland World Cup Squad is the Republic of Ireland national football team. Yes, the members of the team changed from 1988 to 2002, but the team as an institution retained continuity. (See Ship of Theseus.) --Metropolitan90 (talk) 08:19, 21 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Addressed the issues above thanks DanTheMusicMan2 (talk) 13:47, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Scope of article edit

I don't understand the rationale behind only including Irish artists on this list. That might be fine for a blogpost or an article but I don't think it's the Wikipedia way. Taibhseoir (talk) 10:48, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
