I can see how they need a bit of proof for the memorials. I could have made it all up and they have to be sure it is not fiction. Here is a list or verifiers:

• For Westminster Abbey, contact the Dean.

• Gresham College portrait – they could contact Barbara Anderson, Academic Registrar Gresham College, Barnard's Inn Hall, Holborn, EC1N 2HH – tel 020 7831 0575 - WWW.GRESHAM.AC.UK She will verify the portrait’s existence.

• Robert Hooke on the Isle of Wight. Please contact Mrs Sybil Kent, Rosedane, Monks Lane, Freshwater, Isle of Wight who is the secretary for the Robert Hooke Society, Freshwater. The painting hangs in the Planetarium.

• Memorial portrait at the Open University. Please contact The Dean, Faculty of Science, Robert Hooke Building, Walton Hall, Milton Keynes, MK7 6AA. The painting hangs in the seminar room.

• Willen Church. Please contact the vicar, the Rev. Paul Smith, 2 Hooper Gate, Willen, Milton Keynes, MK15 9JR

• Robert Hooke Engineer Please contact Prof Richard Darton, Dept Engineering Science, University of Oxford, 17 Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3PJ.

• St. Paul's Cathedral will vouch for the memorial and the City of London will have a record of the memorial by the Monument. (You can see it in the ground as you come out of the underground).

Presumably they will vouch for the existence of the memorials. Or does Wikipedia need some other kind of proof? I could make a statement??? What would be best? What is the precedence? I have brochures with the St. Paul's and the one by the Monument. Will these do? Help!

Unfortunately, per Wikipedia reliable sources guidelines, references must appear in published material (either online or in print). I.e. newpaper articles, journals, etc. Wikipedia editors cannot personally contact individuals to verify the facts in articles. WikiDan61^ChatMe!_ReadMe!! 13:33, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
