Unsourced, inaccurate coordinates

I find it ironic that the coordinates are given up to 1 second precision (about 20 meters) when their accuracy is nothing like that (e.g. Bogskär is about 10 minutes off). Compare to fi:Suomen maantiede. --Jmk (talk) 00:28, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

I have adjusted Bogskär and checked the others, using http://kansalaisen.karttapaikka.fi/ All others were correct within 100 m. Wikipedia as opposite to other websites, people who find incorrect info should correct it, rather than ask someone to do it. --BIL (talk) 15:05, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Well, I don't agree that these 59°48′30″N 22°54′0″E Tulliniemi coordinates were correct within 100 m. Looking at Karttapaikka, they point (approximately) to an artificial breakwater (for that they are controversial anyway), while the natural landmass goes clearly more south at 59°48′28.74″N 22°54′47.22″E. The distance between those points is about 750 meters. But you are right that one could simply fix it. Done that. --Jmk (talk) 13:02, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

Contrary to BIL's claim, Nuorgam 70°05′22″N 27°57′45″E was not "correct within 100 m" either. The point is given with 1 second (~ 20 meter) precision, but is in fact ~70 meters on the Norwegian side, and ~300 meters too south compared to the northernmost point in the river 70°05′32″N 27°57′20″E, or if you prefer, ~200 meters too south compared to the northernmost land point 70°05′28″N 27°56′53″E.
