Scope creep edit

While this was a list of inactive DCI corps, we had a well-defined list article with clear criteria. With the change by Argonne73 to include non-member corps, we have a scope issue. What's the threshold for including a corps that wasn't in DCI? I can see a mention being justified if they placed in a predecessor competition (and if there are RS, obviously), but where's the line? —C.Fred (talk) 17:19, 16 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

@C.Fred: It would be helpful if the scope of the article can be clarified a bit by establishing some kind of WP:LSC. In addition, there’s also lots of WP:Namechecking and extraneous biographical information about various individuals throughout the article and most of it’s unsourced. Individuals who played significant roles in the groups should be mentioned, but such mentions should also be supported by citations. These mentions shouldn’t also be an attempt to try snd create mini-biographies for these people within this article per WP:COATRACK. — Marchjuly (talk) 00:09, 18 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

I propose merging Edmonton Strutters Drum and Bugle Corps, Railmen Drum and Bugle Corps, and Knights Drum and Bugle Corps into List of defunct Drum Corps International member corps. Defunct drum corps that do not merit their own pages. Bgsu98 (talk) 00:12, 8 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

27th Lancers Founder edit

The founder of the 27th Lancers is named "Bonfiglio," not "Boniglio." 168.91.149.110 (talk) 15:44, 26 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge of Racine Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps into List of defunct Drum Corps International member corps edit

The result of this discussion was not merged . Why? I Ask (talk) 03:37, 5 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Article contains excessive WP:FANCRUFT; insufficient grounds for a stand-alone article. Bgsu98 (Talk) 18:12, 19 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose, on the grounds that there are sufficient sources independent of the group to warrant keeping the page separate. Klbrain (talk) 09:34, 21 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose, as above. There are sufficient sources and it an interesting article. Bduke (talk) 11:46, 21 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose: I would actually support even splitting off to add for the Racine Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps. Racine has a lot of sources on their drum corps. And with that, I am closing this discussion for now. Why? I Ask (talk) 03:37, 5 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Selection critera edit

There is a lot that could (and probably needs to be) merged or added here, but how do we prevent it from coming too large? I vote to have selection criteria be a simple three or more finals appearances (e.g., Suncoast Sound, Velvet Knight, etc.). Why? I Ask (talk) 06:13, 8 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

If we went with this approach, these would be the Drum Corps included in in this page,
27th Lancers
Argonne Rebels
Kilties
Bridgemen
Sky Ryders
Guardsmen
Velvet Knights
Freelancers
North Star
Suncoast Sound
Magic of Orlando
Glassmen
Star of indiana (already has its own page) Ryan56DCIfan (talk) 21:00, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Correction, the Argonne Rebels would not be included because they have only competed in 2 finals, 1972 and 1973. Ryan56DCIfan (talk) 13:15, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
And Anaheim Kingsmen would be included, although like the Star of Indiana, they are notable enough for their own page. Why? I Ask (talk) 15:20, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
If this page becomes too large, the most significant ones can be reverted back to independent pages. Garuda3 (talk) 15:44, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Most of these do not have to capability to stand on their own as pages. Why? I Ask (talk) 18:20, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
The reason they’re on this list is because it was determined their original pages were insufficient. Bgsu98 (Talk) 18:36, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
