Link Rot edit

Under "Sites of Interest" the Curling Country link is dead and the Kansas City link reverts to their homepage. Also, it appears the Kansas City locator uses the same map as on Cedar Rapids' site. Should they just be removed or is there a better way to handle them? 73.237.60.223 (talk) 03:13, 12 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

The GNCC club list and locator map link would work better for the GNCC clubs: http://www.gncc.org/about/member-clubs/member-clubs-list 73.237.60.223 (talk) 03:42, 12 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

One list edit

I was curious if the GNCC and the rest of the USA clubs should be combined into one list. Coppercanuck (talk) 01:20, 9 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I just did that as part of my re-write/re-design. --WaxonWaxov (talk) 17:42, 15 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Major Re-write and re-design edit

Just posted a complete re-write and re-design of the list. This was the result of weeks of research on numerous online resources, none of which were complete, many of which were out-of-date. While doing my research I created a Microsoft Access database to store all my information. Once research was complete, I wrote a macro (Visual Basic) within Access to generate the wikicode for the entire list.--WaxonWaxov (talk) 17:44, 15 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Technical Help edit

I've discovered that the table does not generate porperly on all computers. On my wife's PC blank cells are not rendered with a border like they do on my PC. Any help with this would be appreciated.--WaxonWaxov (talk) 17:47, 15 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

2022 update edit

I've been doing some research on my own that I can use to do a big overhaul here -- shifting regions, dead links, inactive clubs, new clubs, etc. I'm working it up on a spreadsheet and can do it in the next day or two. Will check here first to see if anyone has concerns. Bdure (talk) 17:26, 10 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

The rewrite is done. The situation is fluid as of September 2022 because GNCC may lose its status as a USA Curling region. Some regions also have not maintained updated lists of their memberships. GNCC, ironically, is one region that maintains a current list, though some clubs listed there are paper clubs that may or may not be active. My rule of thumb was that the club is listed if the region lists it.

I've gone for some consistency; e.g., links for individual clubs are either "website" or "Facebook page." I generally linked to an arena or other facility only if the facility's website includes more information, but I left some links from the previous version intact.

I removed the following entries:

  • Team USA Curling: listed in the previous entry as a conglomeration of California colleges; I could find no evidence of this
  • Curling Club of the University of Denver: duplicate; see University of Denver Curling Club
  • AdventHealth Center Ice: Tampa Bay CC's facility; formerly Florida Hospital Center
  • Daytona Curling: has been used by Orlando; can check later to see if they start a new program
  • Gallatin Valley Curling Club: Previous Wiki entry says "Club may never have materialized" and notes Bozeman CC, which did
  • Upper Valley Curling Club: nonprofit name of Woodstock CC
  • Lilac City Curling Club: merged with Coeur d'Alene to form Inland NW CC
