It doesn't make much sense to have "World" listed as #1 in the ranking by sovereign state. I'd remove it from the ranking and change each following rank, but perhaps someone has a way of doing it automatically? ONGC production will take the total production to 81,920,000 mc by Nov 2009.[1].Chanakyathegreat Incorrect. (talk) 07:24, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Clarifications
editThis list has no time value next to the amount in cubic meters. How often do these countries produce their listed amount of gas? Every day, every week, every year? Does anyone know, and if so can you add it? MQinator (talk) 00:34, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

New Discussion
editA discussion has been started at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Countries/Lists of countries which could affect the inclusion criteria and title of this and other lists of countries. Editors are invited to participate. Pfainuk talk 12:32, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
Source
editShould we use instead of the CIA factbook [information from the IEA http://www.iea.org/textbase/nppdf/free/2008/key_stats_2008.pdf], which is more reliable and up-to-date? Beagel (talk) 08:56, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
My proposal: to somehow combine "List of countries by natural gas production" and "List of countries by natural gas proven reserves"
The result would be one table, where each country has columns representing reserves, production and a new column representing the time it would take to drain those reserves if production countinues at current level.
Error in Map
editThere is an error in map. While article puts Iran in the list of countries producing billion 100+ , the map shows Iran in red while it should correctly be in brown.--119.154.40.253 (talk) 01:00, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
Update necessary
editThe data is out of date and need to be updated.Bcs09 (talk) 01:40, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes it does. The US has ramped up production a lot since this list was made. It now leads. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.135.164.254 (talk) 07:46, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
EU including Norway?
editThe EU number looks suspiciously high. Is that including Norway? Because that, of course, would be an error - Norway is not in the EU. TastyCakes (talk) 23:54, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
Myanmar or Burma?
editThe World factbook names the country as Burma; here it is Myanamar. Which is correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tralfamadorian1 (talk • contribs) 10:25, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
sentence at end of page
editwhat is "Sorry This is not real" at the end of the page? should i take it out? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tralfamadorian1 (talk • contribs) 10:29, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
Updating
editIt appears this page is in need of a lot of maintenance, and I propose to update it using the latest figures from the International Energy Agency's statistics http://www.iea.org/publications/freepublications/publication/KeyWorld2014.pdf. Jonojet (talk) 06:13, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
- Good idea. Thanks. Plazak (talk) 10:37, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

Extra column should be added with a link to more info
editI think an extra columns be added with a link to more info for each country, in or out Wikipedia. For example for the Netherlands the link Groningen gas field could go in that column. Andries (talk) 15:21, 17 November 2018 (UTC)
