Talk:List of compositions by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach

Untitled edit

As is noted in some of the critical edition- some of which is available online- some of the concertos are, as with JS Bach, very similar and practically identical; nearly transcriptions. Just for example, the oboe concertos Wq 164 and 165 also exist in versions for harpsichord, for flute and for organ. (See http://www.cpebach.org/cpeb/introductions/III-9-13-Intro.pdf , which makes a case that the oboe versions of these now somewhat well-known concertos were written first, as well as describing where the sources of the manuscripts of the edition were found.) BWV 1020 edit

Is this H.524.5 or H.542.5? I detect a transposed-numbers problem. Will look for Helm's work and may be able to find it, but before that, can't find a definite solution to the problem... Schissel | Sound the Note! 12:24, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Which one is the most recent one? Add it in the article! :-j --83.248.239.86 (talk) 21:00, 4 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

H.298 in E major or C minor? edit

Any postings to YouTube of H.298 are of "Keyboard Sonata in C Minor, Wq. 65/49, H. 298". I'm no authority on music in general nor CPE Bach in particular. Is it possible there is an error and C minor is correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.213.67.120 (talk) 16:48, 14 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

H 811. Michaelis-Musik (H 811) (lost) edit

I have a recording of this one (Ludger Rémy / Les Amis de Philippe). It says the score can be found in the Berlin State Library. So, not that lost? 93.223.193.90 (talk) 15:41, 1 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Work identifiers on Wikidata edit

A simple SPARQL query shows a very deplorable state of this list's coverage by Wikidata items (ideally, the query would spit out exactly this list here). We would be interested in helping out with ingesting this and other catalogs but would require some helpful guidance regarding guidelines, best practices, etc. Johhent (talk) 13:33, 10 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

This article is a pretty huge mess... edit

There is so much that needs to be done to this article to bring it up to mediocre standards; namely adding which works are simply arrangements of previous works, stating which works are spurious, and adding dates of composition.

This is a big job which I can potentially start at some point but probably not finish unfortunately. FlyingScotsman72 (talk) 02:01, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
