According to Holliday (2009) - Montserrat - A Guide to the Centre Hills, there are only three amphibian species on the island. E. johnstonei, L. fallax and B. marinus. This is supported by Kaiser's (1992) map of Eleutherodactylus species in the lesser antilles and the IUCN's (Hedges et al. 2012) species profile.
Blair Hedges, Beatrice Ibéné, Michel Breuil, Robert Powell 2010. Eleutherodactylus martinicensis. In: IUCN 2012. IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Version 2012.2. <www.iucnredlist.org>. Downloaded on 22 December 2012 http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/56747/0
I would expect that the IUCN's report would be the most accurate, however if you feel removal isn't appropriate perhaps a note alongside the species saying that it is only supported at that location by that particular reference? If that was to be done however the Eleutherodactylus martinicensis page should probably also be updated, as it doesn't include Montserrat in it's species distribution. Let me think about it. I also want to see if I can locate my hardcopy of the other source the list currently cites to see if it's included there. postdlf (talk) 18:42, 22 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Okay, brilliant. Let me know once you've had a chance to take a look. Bubbling_away (talk) 12:52, 23 December 2012 (ECT)
Any progress? I think the IUCN is likely to be the most accurate source and they say the species isn't found on the island. Bubbling_away (talk) 18:36, 12 January 2013 (ECT)
Procter & Fleming doesn't have a comprehensive species list, instead covering only "significant species", so it's not helpful. Malhotra & Thorpe don't describe it in the main text, just lists it in the species checklist. So given all of that, we can probably assume the checklist is in error as nothing else collaborates it; let me know if this works for you. I appreciate your effort and discussion. postdlf (talk) 17:59, 14 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
