Occupations.of Palli
editPlease expand the occupation of Pallis in the article. I am not sure how can I suggest this change in "X to Y" format as I don't know where it will fit. But since castes are mostly stratified by occupations, it is imperative to add it on this article as to what occupations Palli did. Here is an excerpt from a source by Gutenberg : "The Pallis live in separate streets or quarters distinctively known as the Palli teru or Kudi teru (ryots’ quarter). The bulk of them are labourers, but many now farm their own lands, while others are engaged in trade or in Government service. The occupations of

Clean up the notable list
editSitush (talk) Can you remove the people's name that have been added by user Gowtham Prabhu in the notable people list? Their allegiance to Vanniyar/Pallis is unsourced/poorly sourced compared to Auto Shankar (whom you removed from the list citing the same reason)
Looping in you (t·c), as you have been familiar with the user ( Gowtham Prabhu) I am complaining about. He has added people in the notable list without good source ( most of the source he provided doesn't mention that the people mentioned in the list belong to Vanniyar caste, except Veerappan) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24thHusbandofDraupathi (talk • contribs) 14:49, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Jamedeus (talk), can you look into this? 24thHusbandofDraupathi (talk) 03:21, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
Noboru Karashima's research on Vanniyars
edit"Palli are ex-hill tribes who formed a solidarity as caste around twelth-thirteenth century in the Chola empire."
Please add this information. As some users asked in history, after a lot of effort, I found the renowned Japanese scientist's work about Palli from this book.

- The same source mentions that the Palli women engaged in prostitution. Correct me if I am wrong. 24thHusbandofDraupathi (talk) 17:07, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
Spreading false information
editThe editors who have taken over this page have taken a very cunning spineless act of trying to spread information to degrade a community, which is very obviously seen. 128.106.137.18 (talk) 14:35, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, true, this should be stopped. The editors are intentionally spreading false information to degrade vanniyar community. There is no reference for "The Vanniyars were historically considered a lower caste" SenPeter (talk) 01:52, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
