Episode summaries

I've written episode summaries for two episodes (4AM Miracle and Friday Night Slaughter). Please check and please help in writing episode summaries for the rest. As a current show, it needs to be given coverage as people are likely to come here to seek for information. Please help! Episode 22?

How has it been confirmed that the final episode will be titled "What kind of day has it been?" Granted, it has been the final episode in the first seasons of The West Wing and Sports Night, Sorkin's other two television shows, but has he confirmed this as the title? That's just speculation about the title. I think there would have to be citations for that to stay the title but also keep in mind Sorkin and crew probably aren't even halfway through writing & producing the season, let alone the season finale. I suggest it be changed to "TBA" until we have a finalized title. Sfufan2005 19:59, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

It should be noted that about a week after Sfufan changed the Ep22 title back to "Untitled Twenty-Second Episode", another anonymous IP changed it back to "(What Kind of Day Has It Been)" again, note the parentheses, following which it didn't get reverted until I caught it today. I'd suggest that we're going to have to keep an eye on this one in the longer term; there's absolutely, unequivocally no place for Wikipedia to even speculate about the title of an episode that hasn't even been written yet. I'd chance a guess at the fact that being the season finale, it probably has been written. I'd also say it's likely that this will be the final episode title, but it is speculation and has no place on the page without reference indicating citation required or purely indicating that it's a rumour.

Episode articles

Once episodic information is known, it is best to create individual entries, and not include them all on the listing page in my opinion --Jon Cates 20:04, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

A list of episodes is usually the first step taken before individual articles, and even then is kept for navigation and at-a-glance referencing. See Wikipedia:Centralized discussion/Television episodes. -- Ned Scott 06:37, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Numbers on the right?

Are the numbers on the right supposed to be production codes/numbers, or "[season number].[episode number]"? If it's the latter, then wouldn't the pilot be considered the first episode of the first season?

Original Airdates

The page showed the Monday airdates on CBS. However as the show is broadcast 1 day earlier in Canada on CTV, the original airdate should reflect that. Nfitz 06:51, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

First off this is an AMERICAN series. If you would like to add international airdates contribute to a article dedicated to giving dates for international broadcasts of the show. Your response does seem off-putting. The article clearly stated "Original Air Date". Clearly the article was erroneous and flawed, and needed fixing one way or another. The obvious solution was to correct the information that was in the article. Surely the encylopeadic thing to do, is to list the correct information, rather than to bias it to a particular country. You have since edited the article to show the title as original US airdate. Surely the first time the episode has been aired (rather than the first time it was aired in a particular locale) is more important. I'm not sure why you are saying you created this page, it was created by Hjkgk and edited by Fumo7887, The JumpStation, 69.180.128.169, 217.196.228.193, 70.37.92.6, Fred Bradstadt, and 68.5.180.224 before you ever came involved. First off, you're completely out of line. I did NOT create this page, I created the Airdates page. Second, I think I'm being very fair, people are going to become confused if the airdate is different from the one which was originally intended from NBC. Only a handful of editors on this site know when the episode will be airing in Canada. Third, NBC is the network producing the show, not CTV it should reflect the airdates that they (meaning NBC) releases. Sfufan2005 20:01, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Oh hang on ... you said you created the article. However, I didn't realise there was a URL behind the word article ... I'd recommend writing comments that don't rely on being aware there is a URL ... a short dark blue URL compared to Black on a light-blue background (here at least, doesn't jump out at one). Hmm, that's a scary page - it will likely air in dozens, if not scores of markets! Is a database of airdates encyclopedic (I don't know the answer to that). Anyway, all that aside, I think the original air date (whether it be in the U.S., Botswana, or Dili) is encycopedic, and if consistently is broadcast previously outside of it's home market, it should also be listed. Hey guys. I've adjusted the article to only list the American date so that I can fit in a column on the guest host. Here's my reasons, and please don't revert my change until you've come to this talk page and respond to all these points:
1. Guest host is useful information. When someone wants to look up an episode, they're more likely to remember that the guest host was Rob Reiner than that it aired on a certain date in a certain country.
2. We don't need to waste two columns on date information. We only need one date column, and can note the discrepencies with notes.
3. This day-early airing in Canada won't last for the entire run of the show. NBC and CBS will move their shows around in midseason and next season, and CTV will start airing simulcasts of Studio 60 on the same night as NBC. This will look pretty silly when all of Season 2 has the same Canadian Air Date and American Air Date.
4. If we're only going to show one date, let's show the American one. This is an American show. We'll want to be consistent throughout all the seasons, and the American one will be the definitive one. We can still remark that Canadians (which I am one!) got certain episodes a day early with the note feature.

Original Airdate vs Canadian Air Date

I think "Original Airdate” is very confusing, and should be changed to "Canadian Air Date" since there is a listing for "American Air Date"

There's actually an entire page/article on airdates. I think these should be more religiously updated there, and perhaps reduced in size on this page.

not all the pictures should have matt and danny. the one for episode 2 should be the cast singing that one song at the end.

New Character from B-12

Hey, who's the new writer who (was an old writer) who sort of coached Darius and Lucy through B12? What was his character name? Really, he should be mentioned in the synopsis (even if not by name, but by presence). --lincalinca 03:23, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Diana Valdes or Gina La Piana

I reverted the singer for the latest episode as that was the stated name of the character in the episode. Obviously we haven't had to deal with this in the past as the hosts and singers have all been real people. This then begs the question is this part of the list necessary? I don't think so as it is about the fictional show rather than the real show. If others say we should keep it, how should we continue in situations like this. Keep it with the character, or do character (played by actor), or the actor playing the part? I would go for either the first or the second one as I doubt that Gina La Piana in real life would be giving drugs to an executive producer of a TV show, and I doubt she would want to be mistaken as such. I would prefer to keep that part of the list, I find it interesting and relevant, and I could see a use for that information (plus, episodes are sometimes built around that). As for what to keep, I vote for the second one, as I was genuinely curious who the actress playing the host was. WLGades 12:57, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

I find the column interesting, but it's place should be on the article for the fictional show, not the real show. Both Diana Valdes and Gina La Piana should be mentioned, in my opinion. Atchius 01:35, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Aaron Sorkin as Writer

Shouldn't the writer field be filled in with TBA as well? We don't *know* that he's writing every episode, do we? Or have I missed something? WLGades 12:55, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Sorkin usually writes every episode but I don't really mind if it stays. The only thing that has seemed to need to be updated weekly is which writers provided the idea or story. Sfufan2005 19:52, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Guest Stars

I think the guest star section is misleading, and ultimately pointless. The stars aren't in the shows they're listed next to and don't have a significant role in the shows that they are in. Therefore I move for it to be removed! -Mr. Kimbo

Details for last two episodes

Does anyone have a source for the information about the last two episodes of the season? Aside from being poorly written, it doesn't seem like it could be accurate, especially given the fact that details for episodes before it aren't yet available. I left a message for the user who added the info, and haven't heard back yet... if nobody can come up with a source, i'm gonna get rid of it in a little bit. - seinman 22:58, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Ep 17 / The Disaster Show

So NBC is saying on the S60 site that the May 24 episode, which, logically, is episode 17, is The Disaster Show with Allison Janney as guest host. Here it says The Disaster Show is not until episode 21 - any reason for the switch? Are NBC airing out of order, or is the info here mistaken? I've moved The Disaster Show up to 17 and everything else down - if anyone know any better, feel free to revert! Dafyd 22:39, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Episode 2 music guests

This is currently listed as the White Stripes, with a footnote advising that he pulled out and they used the Los Angeles Philharmonic. 1. I would suggest that the actual guest should be in then table and those who pulled out in the footnote. 2. The actual musical guest were the fictional "West Coast Philharmonic" and "Los Angeles Light Opera Chorus". Thoughts on making this change? Quadparty (talk) 07:17, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
