Some "tempus fugit" humo(u)r.

This is grossly inappropriate in the main article, but here in the Talk page there is the great gag: "Time flies like an arrow. Fruit Flies like a banana". Old_Wombat (talk) 11:21, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Addition to "tabula rasa"

Tempus Fugit

See the OED under "flee, v." and "fly, v.¹". The confounding of those separate senses dates to Old English and is not only not a "mistranslation" but is by far the superior word choice. Yes, the Latin has only the sense of flight as an escape or swift movement, but this is a rare example of poetry improved in translation. — LlywelynII 05:03, 30 May 2014 (UTC)
