It might not have been as I never saw it, I just accepted it in good faith. To be honest I'd be surprised if it was there, as all Diederick Santer would ever say about him is that "he's a character played by an actor," so I think his real identity is a big secret. Debra Dean

I was wondering if the 'last appearance' should be removed from Debra's section as she will be returning. On the character page perhaps she should be moved into the Recurring Characters. I don't have a source but in Inside Soap it mentioned she will return at the same time as 'Man' aka Ryan. Please reply if you have any suggestions.Whoniverse93 22:09, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

I sometimes wonder if we should comment out last appearances for characters we're not sure about, and just update it every time they appear, then when we're sure they're gone, we can unhide the date. Afia

Watching the episode from Tuesday, I don't think Afia is Bushra's niece. In the conversation between Zainab and Bushra, Bushra doesn't know very much about Afia's family when Zainab asks and she says that she hears Afia's family is wealthy. Seems like it's been written out that they are related for the current storyline, or just forgotten about. Should we change the article? LostHavoc(talk) 03:14, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

I always thought it was pretty unlikely anyway. I mean, Tamwar calls Bushra "aunty Bushra" but they're not related. The Masoods have mentioned several aunts and uncles and I bet none of them are related. So maybe it was meant like that. AnemoneProjectors 03:23, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

Yeah I can see it. I've missed a lot of these vids because they've stopped sending me the weekly EE newsletter! Basically she says she's just finished filming a scene with Syed, Christian, Tamwar and Zainab, she always has fun filming with Syed and Christian. Afia's had a little change of outfit (dunno the context of this but she is dressed differently to normal). She's spent the whole day kissing Tamwar, pouncing on him which is written in the script, but she adds a bit of "Afia-ness" on top of it. In real life she's 28 and Himesh is 20 so she's found herself a toy boy, which is exciting, she teases him about it but he knows she's joking, it puts a spring in her step, he's gorgeous, they have fun working together, he's the best TV hubby ever. –AnemoneProjectors– 11:45, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

Is Afia living with the Masoods now? She has no home listed here but Yusef has moved to Albert Square without her. Afia Khan/Masood/Tamwar

Leave it as Khan until we have a source saying otherwise. With Amira, we had sources for both, and never actually said her name was either. Afia is still credited as Khan all week. Normally they change it upon marriage, or sometimes even before. I am sure they would credit her as "Afia Masood" when we all know it should be "Afia Tamwar", so I think it's best to say neither unless someone comments about the naming thing again. –AnemoneProjectors– 19:44, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Bringing this up again, barely anyone calls her Khan any more. Google turns up 2,420,000 results for Masood and more than half of that for (1,130,000 results) for Khan. In my opinion, this should be changed. GSorby – Ping! 21:28, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

I don't have much of an opinion either way, but if you limit that search by including EastEnders in the search string, Khan still pulls 21,300 hits to Masood's 9,850. Frickative 22:21, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Imam Ali own section?

Per decisions we made starting in 2009, Imam Ali should stay in the others list as he has no real-world information, just plot. Bleaney is arguing that "Mr Lister & Rev Stevens have no OOU info either, we need consistancy!" but that's not the point. If we were to have consistency in this way, we'd have no "others" section at all. Just because we have done something for some characters, doesn't mean we should do it for all of them. As Ali's section is 100% plot, he should stay back in "others". (Also, Bleaney implied that I should start this discussion, quoting "bold revert discuss", but he was bold, I reverted, so he should be the one starting the discussion.) –AnemoneProjectors– 11:58, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Get over yourself AP, you pick and choose which Wiki policies to follow yourself, but remind us of them often enough! My point is this - The 'Others' section as I am to understand is for very minor characters - i.e. Characters who have literally had a couple of lines. Someone like Imam Ali has appeared in connection with various storylines and characters over a period of time, so although he's not a regular character, I wouldnt class him as minor. If we look at List of EastEnders characters (2012) the list is exceedingly short and mainly made up of others, which makes the list look imabalanced, and essentially a list of bit-parts. I think we need to have a wider discussion on what type of characters should have their own sections in this list, and who shouldn't. What makes me laugh is that people caampaign to have certain characters kept in the recurring section of List of EastEnders characters, yet are happy for their own entires to relegated to a 2-line mention! I'm sorry for the way I went about this discussion. I shouldn't allow external factors influence my contributions here. But I still think Imam Ali is a minor character with very little information. Also, I realised it was 2010 when we started this thing for separating others from non-others, but Ali had hardly appeared by then. The "others" list featured the dates of his episodes. Imam Ali

Since its has been more than a year (6 November 2015) since Imam Ali (Emilio Doorgasingh) has appeared in EastEnders is it safe to assume he is a past character? I have put a hidden episode number and date on his last appearance. Thanks Kelvin 101 (talk) 21:46, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

@Kelvin 101: That's what the one-year rule is. He was already moved from the present to past list on 29 October 2016‎ by HappyMan97, when the cast lists up to 6 November 2016 were released, but this user didn't update the character's infobox.
