Episode 12

The episode "Chuck Versus the Undercover Lover" has not been confirmed and the date January 2008 is the time that Chuck will be back on the air, new episodes in that month have not been confirmed. I have also seen multiple possible episode titles. There are also rumors that the 12th written episode is going to be reshot due to the new full season order for Chuck from NBC.--Ngeunit1 (talk) 08:31, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

The/the in S02

Is there a specific reason a couple titles capitalize "The" in season two? I was going to just jump in and "fix" it but it occurs to me that for example "The Ex" might have some significance as opposed to "the Ex". --97.114.25.87 (talk) 04:42, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

I don't think it's deliberately different. Possibly all the titles should be capitalised as it singularises Chuck's "foe" for the episode - so instead of being the Ex, the capital letter implies that she is THE Ex, and so on. I'm not going to do it, though - I think maybe you can get a little bit too picky Weakipidia (talk) 14:28, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Season 2 Summaries and Names

What is up with the comments like "CAT FIGHT"? Also, do the actors have to be repeated EACH time their name is mentioned in the article? Seems rather pointless. I won't edit it until I get a consensus, but it's clear to see that at least those comments and ALL CAPS TYPING don't belong. Bests, Languageleon (talk) 03:51, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Pop Culture references

I too find it interesting, but much of it is way too overboard. For instance, Casey using a minigun from a helicopter is a reference to the Matrix, which would make sense, if it wasn't horribly common for miniguns to be on helicopters, where they have been placed since WW2, the scene is also quite different, as is the attachment for the helicopter and the helicopter model. The minigun could just as easily be a reference to the first Predator movie, or to nothing at all, sometimes a minigun is just a minigun. There a many other similar "references", such as in Versus First Class where he says its "friggin freezing in here", more likely that seems like him just commenting on it being cold, not an uncommon or trademarked sentence. He also says the Charleton Heston line wrong, and nothing about it reminds me of Heton's performance on the NRA's behalf, itself a reference movie he was in (10 Commandments or something). If someone says its hot in a movie, and someone says it hot in a TV show afterwards, that does not mean that the latter is a reference to the former. 69.165.155.101 (talk) 00:54, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Generally, DVD cover images won't last long before being deleted. They are rarely considered notable or important enough. Wikia linking

Is it alright to put a Wikia link on each episode to a related article in the Chuck Wikia wiki? Episode articles of other TV shows have also begun linking to related Wikia wiki. And also, it gets around the debate for article notability for each episode. And since I don't see any internal Wikipedia link at this time, I thought this idea might be useful.

I've started adding the individual episode pages. I have all of Season 1 done, and I did Chuck vs. the Predator this week. 18-49 demo

I don't think this should have been deleted. I understand wanting to make the table consistent with other articles but the 18-49 demo is a valuable piece of information, since a show's ad revenues (and hence, the show's future) are based on viewers under 50, not total viewers. series 2 production codes and intended order / pre empting by president's speech

if you look at the following list of episodes and take into account the production codes, it would appeat that after the christmas break, the first episode to air should have been the episode "Chuck Versus the Best Friend", which would have been in the last week in January. As this episode (as far as the narrative goes) appears to be slotted in between "Chuck Versus the Suburbs" and "Chuck Versus the Beefcake", which almost follow directly, can anyone find a source which confirms that this is the episode which was postponed?

The broadcast order is a bit of a thorny issue. For certain Chuck Versus the Suburbs was intended for the 16th, due to its thematic connection with Valentine's Day. With this in mind, Best Friend was likely the episode slated to air Feb 9 before Obama's address on all the networks preempted the broadcast. Based on story, Third Dimension DOES follow directly off Santa Claus as it resolves Sarah's execution of Mauser, which is not mentioned at all in Best Friend. Whether or not the show was originally scheduled to return in January and this was a late addition in pickup shooting once it was decided to delay the second half until the night after the Superbowl I have no idea (I realize it's just my opinion, but it certainly felt "tacked on," to me). And as mentioned, the story of Beefcake--particularly the state of things between Chuck and Sarah--flows most smoothly if it follows Suburbs. I'm curious what the episode order on the DVD is, as that COULD help clarify things.

However regardless of what the ACTUAL order is, the full episode list is by broadcast order. If there's an anomaly between broadcast and story order it would need to be noted in the entry for the individual episodes, and on the individual episode pages once created. Individual Episode Pages

Is there anyone that can help get pages going for the individual episodes? I created pages for all of Season 1 and parts of Season 2, and will pick up again in Season 3, but there's quite a few episodes left to go in S2 and I could use a hand getting the remainder finished, especially from you folks in the UK who got to have your S2 DVDs early. Is this customary for a TV series? Are individual episodes notable individually? I'm asking in question form because I have not gone to look at articles about other TV series and individual episodes. It seems to vary from series to series, probably depending on the fanbase's interest in actually writing them. I think every episode of House has its own page, as does most of Star Trek: TNG (there's some from I think the second season that are either missing, or are just stubs). There's always information out there, particularly on the development process and guest stars, how different episodes tie together, and issues like what I mentioned in the section above with the confused story order between episodes 12-14. Getting back to the individual episode pages, should we wait until the episode airs to create the page, or does anyone see a problem with creating a stub with what information is available in advance, then fill in the rest of the details once it airs? Where are these confirmed, as EW confirms a two hour finale (Episodes 18 and 19) will be on May 24th, so the currently timeline doesn't correspond without a months hiatus? Where's Season 4 Episodes 22-23?

Why does the Season 4 list go from episode 21 then episode 24? Also the dates would be wrong too because of it. As I don't know how to do tables. So can't fix it. Nothing to fix...someone verified the title and date of the season finale, so the information was included. The in between titles for episodes 22 and 23 have yet to surface on a verifiable source, but when they do, rest assured they too will be included. The dates for those episodes are available, but people have been trying to include titles in the empty spaces without reliable sources, which is simply against Wikipedia policy, so that part of the table is blank for now. Couldn't they be listed as episode 22 and 23 in the number section and be left blank then i.e. the titles? Because when I first came here I didn't notice that they were missing. I think it happens in other sections that's why skipping from episode 21 to episode 24 threw me when I did notice. Just so people know there are two more episodes even without names. Like I said, they were but people kept filling them up with...something, relying on bad sources or no source at all. I'd be inclined to agree with you, and if it were up to me personally, the finale would remain buried as well to alleviate just such confusion. But Wikipedia is not a vacuum, and someone thought this right. I don't disparage such decisions, as there are just as many more fans thrilled to know now the name of the season finale. There must be a better way to handle it, though. I'd rather have "TBA" for episodes 22 and 23, with a comment in the markup not to change it, than have the sequence jumping from 21 to 24. Some editors might ignore the comment, but it couldn't be that much worse than it is now, and at least it will be obvious that the numbering is intentional... And while I'm usually loathe to include unverified future information, if the season has been confirmed to have 24 episodes, and the episode titles for 21 and 24 are known (and included), it seems perfectly reasonable to put placeholders in for the others. --Fru1tbat (talk) 21:28, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

I didn't realize the use of "TBA" would cause a stir, but I think the table looks awkward with blank cells for the title field. Isn't this a special case? Ratings, directors, writers, etc. are more or less optional fields in episode lists, whereas I consider the title a required field, as it is the key identifier of the episode (i.e. the whole point of having the list in the first place). I've seen other shows with blank episode title lists this year until each title got verified. So it's not unusual. Until now I thought that was normal. I think either blank or TBA would be fine. Blank seems more logical until the title can be verified. As a current example the Doctor Who full episode list has TBA and the Series 6 list has blank spaces.
