Sources
editI have sourced the list in accordance with Wikipedia's Original Research and Verifiability policies. Basically, anyone described by a reliable source as "Austrian" or "Austrian-American" (i.e. as opposed to "of Austrian descent", "Austrian mother", etc.) is on the list. Here are the people I couldn't find anything for. If you have a reliable source that fits that please restore the names:
- Franz Alt - mathematician
- Adele Astaire, dancer/entertainer
- Victor L. Berger - politician
- Paul Gallico - novelist
- Liza Huber - actress
- Bill Kirchenbauer - comedian
- Samantha Mathis - actress
- Otto E. Neugebauer - mathematician/historian
- Sylvia Plath - poet
- Isidor Isaac Rabi - physicist
- Erika Slezak - actress
- Eliot Spitzer - attorney general of New York City
- Johnny Weissmuller - swimmer and actor
Formatting
editCan somebody repair the formatting of the reference list? Suddenly for two entries Wiki started to add a reference number in the middle of the text, thus the numbering is not coherent.
Inclusion criteria
editThe inclusion criteria for this article are those people who are Austrian American as described in the Austrian American article--the same as for all fooian American lists. The inclusion criteria also is that the WP Linked articles OR citations on this page show the person is Austrian American by that article's criteria. This is also the same for all fooian American lists. It is not the place for a single editor without discussion or consensus to try to alter the inclusion criteria of this list or its contents.
