I agree with Poornipillai, this article about lingerie parties is bad, because it implies that lingerie parties simply a channel to sell lingerie. This is only one type of lingerie party. There are many ways to host a lingerie party and this needs to be expanded. For example, many women host lingerie parties themselves which are theme parties focused on lingerie. Models may be hired to model the lingerie or if the participants are willing, some of the guests may do so. While I do not mind writing an article about lingerie parties, I do not feel like struggling with wikipedia to get it approved and then have it endlessly edited. Here are some good sites with information about organizing a lingerie party, where no selling is involved: http://www.lingerie-parties.info/ http://lingerie.lovetoknow.com/Lingerie_Party_Plans http://www.diva-girl-parties-and-stuff.com/bridal-shower-games.html 80.218.226.171 (talk) 12:01, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi! This is the first time I'm contributing an article to Wikipedia and its a little confusing. I was searching online for lingerie parties- on how to plan one and found very little information. I noticed that Wikipedia lacked an article on the topic so I wrote one down based on experience and research. However, I keep getting a message which says the article is marked for deletion because "the article seems to be blatant advertising." I don't get that because I haven't advertised anything in the article. I think I need help! I'd really appreciate it if someone told me what I was doing wrong. Thanks! Try reading through the style guidelines on Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and other articles around there. It's probably some of the language comes across too enthusiastic when it should be more dispassionate. Pretend you're a sociologist writing about this as a social phenomenon rather than you writing about what fun it is. Namechecking lingerie companies probably got you that advert warning, so you could leave them out. Don't be put off writing though - it's not about doing something "wrong", it just needs a few more contributions to help shape the article. Compare it with party plan, which is related. --Cnbrb 22:46, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
