Article too exclusive

edit

The Term 'Line of Duty Death', or 'LODD', refers to many services, not just firefighting. Paramedics and law enforcement officers, for example, who give their lives while on duty are also considered LODD. LODDs are not exclusive to even those services, and LODDs can also be considered to have occurred when members of any of these types of services are killed when off duty but intervening in an emergency according to their training. The scope of this article needs to be widened, IMO.

In addition, the intro paragraph statement "A line of duty death (LODD) is a death .... while on duty at an emergency or drill" is also too exclusive. A firefighter, police officer or medic, etc, who dies while on duty is considered a LODD, not only when they are specifically involved in an "emergency or drill". US centric

edit

I was going to tag the article with a Globalize tag, but I decided to ask here first. Is this article only about US occurances or is it meant to be a Global one? --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 23:43, 21 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
