The example given is way too simple! I mean: it's just separable first order ODE. Can we cook up some examples that are more "interesting", for instance a 2nd order ode which is not readily tractable by other techniques? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.11.126.8 (talk) 19:47, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

My goal was not to give examples beyond understanding but to show simply an infinitesimal approach that leads to Lie symmetries. But why not to add also a more complicated example? you are right.
