Improvement suggestions
edit--Mahad Nadeem Janjua (talk) 13:45, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
Hello,
Glad to read up on this topic that you have chosen to write about.
Very informative and well written. I did notice a few areas where a few citations would definitely help your claim.

editNice and interesting article! Enjoyed reading and definitely easy to read and learn from it. Good semantic style of the sentences, no issues for fluent reading :)
I have a few suggestions :)
- introduction: for the first couple of sentences, there is no citation. Consider adding a few (you can also add no. 1 and 2 if these were the ones being used to make these claims)
- citations are a general theme: I think a few more should be included (you can just reuse the ones you already have, but put them after each claim you make :) )
- in section "Cutting": "[...] physical contact between the cutting tool and the fibres." --> why is that a problem/disadvantage? Maybe add one sentence on that
- regarding the term "resin": maybe add a blue link? (There's different articles on resin, so I wasn't sure which one to pick as this is not my field :)
- sometimes the spacing between paragraphs is not consistent (sometimes bigger/smaller spacing), not sure whether that's intended
CC: Very nice
editIn my opinion, it is a very good article. As a layman, I can clearly understand the process.--Warren C.Chen (talk) 15:23, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
Observations and suggestions for improvements
editThe following observations and suggestions for improvements were collected, following expert review of the article within the Science, Tecnology, Society and Wikipedia course at the Politecnico di Milano, in June 2020.
"Introduction needs revision to consider: -other fibers are commonly adopted other than ""continuous polymeric or ceramic fibres"" -unidirectional prepregs are available.
In the 'Lamination' section, a more clear distinction of the sequence of layers is needed, with more details on the role of each layer.
References could be extended and updated, see e.g. : -Manufacturing techniques for polymer matrix composites, Edited by Suresh G. Advani and Kuang-Ting Hsiao, Woodhead Publishing Limited, 2012 -Composites Manufacturing, Sanjay K. Mazumdar, CRC Press, 2002"
Capitalization
editI see no reason for this process to be capitalized; the lay-up process is not named after a person or place, and Wikipedia eschews overcapitalization, which is what this appears to be. Tell me why I'm wrong. - Julietdeltalima (talk) 17:25, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
- I was thinking this same thing. I'll move it to Lay-up process if I can find no other objections. Reconrabbit (talk|edits) 16:38, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
