Jesse Lacey

Does anyone know if they're related? 74.110.101.98 01:41, 25 August 2007 (UTC)mandy9876

  • Notice that Lacey is her first name, not her last name. They're not related. (Quetzal123 22:42, 5 September 2007 (UTC))

Table Thingy

I added the table thingy with her picture on it. I keep forgeting what that table's called can someone tell me. Thanx. Quetzal123 04:07, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Not sure myself, but I'm glad you added it :). AllAroundMe 15:35, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Her Height

I changed it because no one will take wikipedia seriously unless we convert from imperial to metric accurately. 59 x 2.54 = 149.86cm. 1cm off!!! OH NOES THE SHAME!!! Anyway I saved us all. 151 is now 150. U R A GR8 M8 18:22, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Conversion

I think she should be added to the Atheists who have converted to Christianity page. CharlieP216 18:36, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Agreed. She has a testimony as to how she came to know Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior. Alliereborn (talk) 02:04, 28 December 2012 (UTC)

wikified

I wikified the article, removed the cleanup tag and replaced with a citation tag. It looks better but more work is certainly needed. Also I stuck her height in the trivia section but do we really want to keep that in the article?? Eleigh33 21:35, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Very nice clean up. I think it's a good idea to keep her height there because so many wonder, she is very petite hehe.

Cleanup and cite

I am going to try to find some citations for the information in this article, but beware: anything uncited is getting deleted, especially info about her mental health and so on per the biography of living persons standards --Chuck Sirloin 15:29, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Well, I pretty much removed everything from the article, per WP:BLP. I will try to find time to dig up some verifiable sources and re-add some of the cited material. Feel free to help! --Chuck Sirloin 19:41, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Um..well, you can pretty much re-add everything, and cite FlyleafOnline. I'm pretty certain that's where the info came from, based on the fact that FO.com is a big, reliable source, where most of the information is found.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.251.62.24 (talkcontribs).

Is flyleafonline a reliable source? I have not had time to look at it myself, but before info from a website can be added, we have to make sure that it is reliable. Just because it is a fansite does not make it verifiable. Interviews from a magazine would be better. --Chuck Sirloin 17:47, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

It's definately a reliable source. I know most fan sites tend to go by opinion and what-not, but I've come to see this site going by fact. FO.com has lots of Flyleaf interviews, including video interviews.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.251.62.24 (talkcontribs).

Well, feel free to add things to the article with citations from from the various interviews. Also, you really should sign your posts by typing ~~~~ after them. --Chuck Sirloin 21:17, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Cool. Ya, I'm no Wiki expert yet lol :P I try, though Skankslapdisco 01:24, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

  • This article smells bad - the writing is awful and not appropriate for wikipedia - it feels like a fan page. Can someone with knowledge of the subject help to clean this up? I suspect the article might need a complete re-write. Thanks, Hu Gadarn 03:29, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

If it feels like a fan page, feel free to edit it and make it more "professional". But please keep all this information in the article - it speaks frankly about this person and tells you a lot about her, which is the point. I haven't come across a single fan page with all this information (not including FlyleafOnline.com, I don't even really consider that a fan page. it's a great resource for the band in general) - I wrote this after listening to Lacey openly speak about her life. AllAroundMe 03:44, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Redirect

There is nothing on this page that isn't a repeat of info on Flyleaf so I am redirecting this page back there. Maybe if someone gets a real, cited bio that does not duplicate the info on the band, there could be an article, but right now I don't think it needs one. --Chuck Sirloin 19:56, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Yerp I believe she definately deserves an article, so I will actually try and get one going. And definately cited. I don't see why people want to add things without adding where they got it. I mean, I failed my term paper, too, but I cited works. Alright, I'm done making mockery :P AllAroundMe 00:23, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Alrighty

So I managed to get the page going again! This is my first article, don't kill me :P I'm totally clueless with the References section, I'm still working on figuring that out..feel free to fix it up, and other changes, additions or clean ups needed. I just wanted to get the basic idea of the article down. I hope it's alright. Cheers AllAroundMe 08:10, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

I like what you did with the article. I fixed the references (for how to do footnotes see "how to use footnotes") and removed the flyleaf template which seem to be kind of jacked up. I will say that I am still not fully comfortable with using fansite references for topics like her alleged attempted suicide. I can't read the fansite right now, but I will check it later to see if it is verifiable enough to use as a source, otherwise we have to remove that info. --Chuck Sirloin 16:49, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! Flyleafonline.com runs on 100% correct information. The band even listed them in the credits of their CD booklet. Flyleaf also has a blog on their MySpace page personally thanking FO.com for everything they do.

You can look up Lacey all over the Internet, especially on YouTube, where she talks very openly about her past and her drug use and suicidal behaviors.

oh, and to those notices on the page - everything here I typed out myself except for the obvious direct quotes of Lacey herself. I wrote it using the sources I listed. I also don't really see how this is "peacock" terms. AllAroundMe 03:50, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Bio

I'm not sure that such a personal conversion story really classifies as biography. I'm clearly not the one to rewrite it, but I'm not sure the specifics of a church service are really relevant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.222.214.63 (talk) 11:46, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, if everyone thinks like that, it will never be rewritten. Please be bold. -- Pepve 13:50, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
I think it is very relevant. The reason she is still alive and why I'm able to even write about this person is because of it. AllAroundMe 06:46, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
An encyclopedia is not about sympathy, it is about objective information. The current article is written like a novel, while it should be written like a biography. There has to be distance between the writer and the subject, Wikipedia is not about personal stories. You may of course have your personal story (as we all may, we are all persons), but it should not be here. -- Pepve 13:33, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

(Sorry I'm not signed in) There is no "sympathy" here - I am not a Christian and I completely respect people's beliefs. Almost all articles I read on the lady talk about it, perhaps not so in-depth, and that's fine. Either way, it's all the same info, people will always ask and wonder and look to different sources for different info. If it needs to be taken out or edited, I don't see what's stopping anyone from doing it instead of debating it. I'll re-edit over the next few days. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.83.0.190 (talk) 18:02, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

I am interested in the "church" she supposedly went to and became Christian... just because I saw people's comments on Youtube about her being Catholic, but I haven't found anything to prove or disprove that. So if someone knows the name of the church she attended or attends, I think it's an important piece of information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.192.247.249 (talk) 22:55, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Most Beautiful Woman Ever

Removed. The statement that she is the most beautiful woman ever. I feel that it is widely unsubstantiated. 76.79.104.118 02:09, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

  • While I agree that wikipedia should remain unbiased, she is the most beautiful woman ever. --03:42, 2 November 2007 (UTC)~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.210.117.58 (talk)

Genre edit

I etided it to say alt-metal because it's correct and it matchs the wikipedia article on flyleaf wich lists the genre of flyleaf as alternative metal —Preceding unsigned comment added by Xion infinity (talkcontribs) 01:28, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Revision In order

This article does not belong in the religion portal, it's a bio. Also, this page is less of a biography and more of an article based on her religious beliefs. Discussing the religion is fine, as its a part of her life, but discussing it at such length is unnecessary. I am considering re-organizing the information to be more neutral and less based on her religion. I will not remove all of the information on her religion, just enough to make it sound less like it was written to convert people. If there are any objections please say so.Xenosagian (talk) 23:14, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Conversion

Is there a reference for the tumor story? It certainly could be possible, but I found this story about her conversion (the short version is she visited church finally and had an incredible experience...no mention of a tumor though), and I trust the accuracy of this publication: http://www.christianitytoday.com/teens/special/flyleaf.html Corylc (talk) 18:24, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm assuming her name isn't spelled with exclamation marks on her birth record

So I edited them out of the article. 66.30.8.217 (talk) 19:41, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Lacey Mosley

Who screwed up the Article? It said "Later the fights with her mother got too Intense and the police were forced to step in. So she had to go live with her Grandparents Now it says "After her grandmother forced her to the church" then Saying "Later the fights with her mother got too Intense and the police were forced to step in. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.170.96.12 (talk) 13:06, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Subject's name

There has been a number of edits regarding the subject's name following her recent marriage. At the moment, the weight of evidence is that she's referred to most commonly as Lacey Mosley, and that should be the article's name. The naming conventions for people recommend the most common form of the name. The Manual of Style recommends that the page title be bolded in the first sentence.

So long as the most common name is Lacey Mosley, that should be the article's name, and in turn that should be the name highlighted in the first paragraph. If and when we find evidence that the subject is commonly known as Lacey Sturm, it would be best to move the article and alter the lead sentence. The kind of evidence to convince would include reputable press reports, or a clear indication on the band's official websites. CJPargeter (talk) 11:15, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

It now seems that Flyleaf's official site as well as all recent interviews refer to her exclusively by her married name. Therefore, per the above discussion, I'm changing the article to reflect that. It seems that the article itself has already been moved, so apparently someone already made this decision and just neglected to bring the rest of the article in line with that.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.3.209.9 (talk) 21:13, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

New main picture

I believe that we should change the main picture of the article that shows Lacey with a microphone in her hand, it is a very bad and unclear picture. something like this would be much better   and here's the link i got it from if the attachment didnt work Lacey Pic Darksorce (talk) 05:08, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

I agree, there should be a new picture. Crash Underride 06:03, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Personal life

It was proven that since she was fighting with her mom that the police cam and told her she cant stay her anymore as proven in this interview video of her so this should be readded [1] the link it case Lacey Interview Darksorce (talk) 07:22, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Lacey's last name?

Howcome it hasnt been changed to Sturm. Anyone with a right mind should know that once married, the wife's last name is changed to that of the husband's, unless otherwise agreed, which in this case was not. She has even mentioned at several shows she goes by that name now. And for people who argue that 'thats the name everyone knows her by', shouldnt it be better for everyone to get to know her new name? --Dem467 (talk) 02:42, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

As I noted above, the rule for Wikipedia as a whole is to use the most commonly-known name for a person. Wikipedia does not make reality, it reflects reality. I accept that a person has the right to choose her own name, and that includes the choice of whether a wife should take her husband's name - and that is a choice, it is not automatic. If Lacey is referring to herself as Sturm rather than Mosley, then there will be sources in print (newspaper reviews, magazine articles, album liner notes...) that back this up. Supply some sources, and I'll help make the change, and make sure it sticks.CJPargeter (talk) 08:35, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
I believe that on must request a legal name change based on the marriage certificate. The change isn't automatic. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:24, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
We're trying to find something in print that explains if there has been some formal announcement in the media that we can cite. As always, we're trying to find verifiable sources to help keep Wiki up to high standards. Sometimes, its not as easy as we would prefer. Greenshinobi (talk) 22:11, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Image

The image on the article keeps getting changed to one with someone's arm right in the middle of it. Also the new image seems to have copyright issues. Unless there is consensus on this talk page to do otherwise we should leave the old image in place. –Megaboz (talk) 00:01, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

Pregnancy

"Mosley was married on September 6, 2008 to Joshua Sturm, the guitarist of the band Kairos and the guitar technician for Flyleaf. She later divorced Sturm in early 2009 after a year of marriage. On December 2nd, 2009, She married Joey Jordison of Slipknot and MurderDolls. On May 19th, 2010, They posted on Flyleaf and Slipknot's websites they announced that they are expecting their first child. The baby is due in early summer. "Flyleaf off tour, recalls rough road", The Lariat, 5 November 2008"

I don't see anywhere in that citation(from 2008) saying that she was remarried to the faggot from Slipknot or pregnant, which is obviously someone trolling. If the supposed baby is due in early summer, she would have already had it or be huge, I just saw them on the 19th of June 2010 and she was definitely not pregnant. I'm removing the section about her remarriage and pregnancy as there is no source, nor will there be.

Edit: I just noticed this bullshit is also on the Joey Jordison page if someone wants to change it. 66.58.168.83 (talk) 04:18, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

I dont want to add this to the main page as personal conversations aren't reliable or citeable. But, Lacey told a few of us at a meet and greet a while back that once touring behind the current album starts, she and Josh plan to start a family....The topic came up because I myself am 5 month's pregnant.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.97.145.78 (talk) 18:19, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

There are a lot of them... AnonMoos (talk) 15:31, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

"Early Life" quit deleting it!!!

Okay I have put a paragraph about Lacey's early life on her page many times. I am sooooo SICK of people deleting it!!!!! Does anyone know how I can put a lock on it or something so it won't get deleted again? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.23.115.250 (talk) 22:02, 27 October 2011 (UTC)

Sorry. It's unreferenced and has to be removed. It's also poorly written. Yes, I know how to have the article locked, but it won't be locked for the reasons you're suggesting. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:16, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
Example of poorly written: who had the nervous breadkdown, the grandmother or the subject? Please see WP:BLP as to why you need references for the material. If you can get at least one reference, we can improve the prose. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:19, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
So how about pasting it here, and someone can edit it to give you an example of what is required? Everybody learns that way. Ebrockway (talk) 00:58, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
You may check the article's history and look at the edits made around October 27, 2011. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:23, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Lesbian?

We have a source that clearly states she had a girlfriend. Apparently there are editors who take offence at the idea that having a girlfriend could imply that the subject was a lesbian. Sure, she could have been bisexual or just experimenting. The source is not clear on that. We either need sources to support that or clarify the information. Alternately, we need to determine better wording. I have removed the offensive term but left the reference. I have also requested that the page be protected so that new editors cannot remove content.
