Remove reference to Stephen Hendry's original home being in South Queensferry. His Wikipedia article gives his birthplace in Perthshire. (It may be true that Hendry has a holiday home in South Queensferry. 86.30.194.84 09:26, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Kirkliston specs edit
This statement is not correct "An interesting curiosity in the village is the presence of a Gravestone dated 1727 that includes two carved heads wearing glasses. If the date on this headstone is accurate then this is the world's oldest depiction of glasses with sides." I know three Spanish paintings of glasses, with side supports, John Lennon specs, which predate this. El Greco: Portrait of Cardinal Fernando de Guervara, ca 1600. New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. Jusepe de Ribera: Portrait of a Knight of Santiago, mid 1630. Dallas Meadows Museum Southern Methodist University. Murillo: Four Figures on a Step, 1655-66. Forth Worth Kimbell Art Museum. These are all illustatated in, Spanish Portraits from El Greco to Picasso. Route edit
Unless you are VERY lost Kirkliston is NOT on the historic route from Edinburgh to Queensferry. It is on one of the several routes from Edinburgh to GLASGOW and arguably on the route from south west villages such as Currie to Queensferry (but not really given the radial nature of roads around Edinburgh--Stephencdickson (talk) 18:09, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

Isobel Wylie Hutchison edit
Isobel Wylie Hutchison was a Scottish Arctic Traveller and Plant Collector. She was born in 1889 in Carlowrie Castle, Kirkliston and lived there until her death in 1982. She travelled to Iceland, Greenland, the Lofoten Islands Alaska and the Aleutian Islands collecting plants and information for her books. She travelled on her own. She wrote several books about her travels, wrote poems, painted pictures which she published on her return.Peter DC (talk) 14:27, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
