Added this topic to Third Opinion page for additional input re: usage as nickname for President G.W. Bush. Objection to the nickname appears to be non-NPOV, as comments on talk pages and edits to Bill Clinton by the individual objecting to the nickname seem to reflect partisan bias. --143.127.3.10 18:45, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

This is a disambiguation page, so most of the text explaining the nickname should probably go. All of that belongs Bush's own article. I've edited the references to Bush and Steinbrenner to make it more in line with a disambig page. I'm sure there's a better wording for the heading than the one I used, though. I think this issue has now been settled. Comments about reasoning behind nickname, which were probably POV, have been removed, and all that remains is a simple fact - some people call the current president King George. If anyone has any further problems with the page as it stands, let's please talk it out here, rather than removing it without any comment or discussion.

It's always the same deletion, and the anon individual(s) uses a different IP each time they make the edit (and the new IP appears to only be used once--for the King George deletion). Not sure if it's the person at 68.209.2.94, who originally complained about the nickname being applied to both President Bush and George Steinbrenner, or if it's someone else carrying on a prank. Third opinion

It seems to me that if people may in common speech use a term such as this to refer to George Bush, then it is worth noting.

If I were unfamiliar with US politics, and I heard an American use the term "King George", I would want a resource like Wikipedia to be able to inform me on what was meant. While WP cannot exhaustively catalog all possible colloquialisms, one that has use beyond a small group should be referenced.

Nor is the construction obvious, which may be another (weak) argument against mention; I've never heard of anyone refer to King William for Bill Clinton or King Ronald for Ronald Reagan.

Supposed nicknames

I removed the supposed nickname holders. None of the linked articles made mention of the use of the nickname "King George" to refer to their subjects. -- JHunterJ (talk) 03:24, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm removing it again. If there are reliable sources for George W. Bush's nickname "King George", please add that information (with citation) to George W. Bush first. If there aren't, then that article is not ambiguous with "King George". -- JHunterJ (talk) 16:01, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

King George of Lebanon
