Primary sources verify definitions

30-Oct-08: Wikipedia's policies for verifiability (WP:VERIFY) can, at times, appear too severe for the situation. In particular, the level of facts known as "by definition" typically, in the real world, do not require an renowned expert with decades of experience to proclaim, "Yes, all my esteemed colleagues concur that 'Two=2' and the 'Wildlife Service protects animals' " or such. Instead, by the use of logic, it is ample evidence to cite the primary source, as saying "Our mission is to protect wildlife": there is no need to cite the New York Times or the Times of London with: "Newsflash: Kenya KWS Tasked to Protect Wildlife". Instead, all primary information can be paraphrased from the primary source, as the one and only source, and as a source that can be verified. Remember that Wikipedia has had a long history of juvenile policies and practices, such as people deleting real-world maps in favor of wiki-grams that contain no labels, rivers, roads or terrain. When you see people dwelling, and sinking down, to force a childish "Kidopedia" then simply explain what grown-ups do in the real world, and stop that infantile behavior pronto. There is no need to cite a secondary source to verify any organization's stated mission or department structures. In formal logic, that proof is called "proof by definition" and requires no further elaboration to verify such statements. -Wikid77 (talk) 13:27, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

In BBC "HARDtalk" interview with Stephen Sakur, 2 Nov 2015 , Richard Leakey was introduced as the new "Chairman of the Kenya Wildlife Service." In the interview, Leakey said President Kenyatta appointed him under the condition that he "clean it up." He also said he has the full support of the cabinet. However, i see nothing about the appointment in the news or contacts sections of the KWS website. Consequently, i didn't try to update this article.
