Suggestions for improvement

I have two suggestions for improvement at the moment:

1. The best/only history of Judo in Canada is Glynn Leyshon's Judoka: the story of Judo in Canada (1998). If you have access to this book, please use it to improve the article.

2. It would be nice to see some tables for the competition results, especially since that is the only realistic way to include the Pan American Games results. If you have time to do this, please do.

List of Canadian judoka

I have created a companion for this article titled List of Canadian judoka. It currently lists all members of the Judo Canada Hall of Fame. Everyone listed there should be notable enough to warrant their own article, so anyone who does not yet have an article should be treated as a priority for new articles related to Judo in Canada. Translated into Japanese

A translation of this article is now available in Japanese. CanadianJudoka (talk) 05:23, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

C to B

We need a few pictures but the article is very close to B.Peter Rehse (talk) 07:26, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Great, thanks. :) I'm working on pictures. I have contacted a few people in the Canadian Judo community, and a couple have already agreed to license some of their photos to be distributed through Wikimedia Commons. I am going to ask Judo Canada to consider making all or most of the photographs that they hold copyright on available in the same way. I have already been in touch with them about making Glynn Leyshon's book Judoka: a history of Judo in Canada freely available through Google Books, and the request is with the Board of Directors now. I have a few ideas for things that are already available that could be added, but I thought it'd be best to add several things at once. CanadianJudoka (talk) 15:10, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Judoka: a history of Judo in Canada now free to view and download on Google Books

I have some good news. After an unsuccessful attempt to find a print copy of Glynn Leyshon's book Judoka: a history of Judo in Canada (1998), I discovered that Google recently scanned a copy as part of its Google Books Library Project. I contacted Judo Canada and they have agreed to license Google to distribute the book, which is now free to view and download in its entirety. I am grateful to Judo Canada, and I hope that you enjoy the book and consider using it to help improve this article and others related to it (especially articles about athletes). I added Vignale Sensei (Duncan Vignale, Hachidan, Ontario) to the table. Please see, https://www.judoontario.ca/awards_recognition/high_dans Roy.thistle (talk) 03:54, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
