Jose is not José
editThere should be two separate articles, and two separate talk pages. No reason for this page to lead to the other talk page. Quickmythril (talk) 06:49, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Merge?
editThis is a questionable split. Most of the names in the list are Filipinos, Spaniards, Puerto Ricans, Cubans.... which presumably are not people with a Hebrew or Aramaic background as the lede of this page suggests. Both "Jose" and "José" share the same etymological link to "Joseph" and as much as it would lengthen an already long list, there is no reason to keep the two separate. 162.208.168.92 (talk) 22:45, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose, on the grounds that the names are culturally distinct and warrant separate coverage; the problems seems to be the current content, which could be be tied (removing the misplaced names) rather than merging. Klbrain (talk) 09:23, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
- Closing, given the uncontested objection (admittedly mine!) and no support. Klbrain (talk) 08:57, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
