Request for Speedy Deletion
This is a little complicated, and I am willing to discuss. However, there is a much better version of this article at Draft:Johndale Solem that I would like to accept. Can someone delete this stub so that the good draft can be moved into article space? Robert McClenon (talk) 04:21, 16 November 2015 (UTC)
- That draft is suffering from a serious lack of inline citations (as well as needing some general cleanup). I would suggest getting the draft to an acceptable level before G6'ing this page. Primefac (talk) 06:04, 16 November 2015 (UTC)
- I’m sorry there has been so much confusion. A little history. Someone created a stub article “Johndale Solem” that was totally inadequate. UareNumber6 then drafted a full article. Then GoldCar took that full article and improved it. This GoldCar article is the one-and-only best version (of these three). I propose that the existing “Johndale Solem” article be replaced with the existing “Draft:Johndale Solem” article, which is the best version and contains most of the information that is in the “Johndale Solem” article. - I agree with Primefac that the draft at Draft:Johndale Solem needs attention before it could ever be considered acceptable. In its present state, it not only lacks inline citations but any citation that supports large portions of the biography. Yes, the page has a long list of citations -- almost entirely to papers he published or single mentions of the name -- but I do not see any significant coverage by independent reliable sources as required by the WP:GNG guideline. It currently fails Biography of living people for its Original Research, Synthesis and lack of Verifiability. Unless there are sources found which provide significant coverage, the draft will need to be whittled down to the same type of stub that already exists here. — CactusWriter (talk) 16:22, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
