WP:MOSDAB recommends "for places or people, alphabetical or chronological order may make more sense — but only for articles that are equally common."

Joginder Singh +"rally" gets 38,400 hits, compared to 21,200 for Joginder Singh +"Subedar" and 10,100 for Joginder Singh +"commander", but I've arranged these in chronological order, so the Subedar comes first. That also matches the chronological order of the relative page creation dates.
