Baseball player and race horse edit
According to stories in the Washington, D.C. sports press in the spring of 1971, Jim French (horse), who finished in the money in all three Triple Crown races that year, was named for Jim French (baseball), the Washington Senators catcher. French, the human, talked about it with sports writers on a few occasions and, as I remember, met the horse once in Florida during spring training.
An editor with access to the winter/spring 1971 archives of the Washington Post, Evening Star or Washington Daily News could document this. Rklear (talk) 21:52, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
