Move Request edit

It was requested that this article be renamed but the procedure outlined at WP:RM#How to request a page move did not appear to be followed, and consensus could not be determined. Please request a move again with proper procedure if there is still a desire for the page to be moved. Thank you for time! -- tariqabjotu 02:20, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Name edit

In the series 3 episode where Jez is called for Jury duty, it says on the letter "Mr J. Usbourne" - not Osbourne. Hmm

There is a discussion about this on the Peep Show page. I think we were coming to the conclusion that we should indeed spell his name as that but I still wasn't sure if I should change anything. Iae 02:25, 30 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dude, on epidode one of series one this name is clearly written on this CD for his track "I'm Dangerous". It is spelt "Usborne". It's hard proof! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jim2904 (talkcontribs) 21:49, 9 September 2007

And the show's official website says "Osbourne", so nothing is proved either way..... ChrisTheDude 22:02, 9 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Note, discussion on name change is here. Iae 15:27, 1 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

His name is Osbourne as stated on the channle four web-site http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/P/peep_show/jez.html Please have a look and change Usbourne to Osbourne.

Firstly, you put that in the wrong place, secondly the link you provided shows both spellings, one in the heading and one in the body text, so it doesn't answer the question at all.... ChrisTheDude 23:11, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Jeremy OsbourneJeremy Usbourne – As discussed on the Peep Show talk page, Jeremy's surname is given as 'Usbourne' on his jury-service letter, and his surname is clearly pronounced as 'Usbourne' in the job interview scene (which is available on YouTube, his surname being spoken in the first few seconds). --McGeddon 12:42, 12 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Survey edit

Add "* Support" or "* Oppose" followed by an optional one-sentence explanation, then sign your opinion with ~~~~

  • Support. Although there are a lot of sources for "Jeremy Osborne" through Google, they don't seem to stem from any canonical source, and were probably just from one mistyped press release. --McGeddon 12:45, 12 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • Support as per McGeddon. (BTW, an existing name change request is still in the backlog from 1st of September, so hopefully they'll get round to that one soon enough) --Iae 13:30, 12 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
    • Oh, I didn't notice that. Presumably it'll be dismissed again for not following the move-request procedure, as it wasn't accompanied by a "Requested move" section being added to this page, and it needs five days of survey results. --McGeddon 15:27, 12 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Requested move edit

Jeremy UsbourneJeremy (Peep Show character) — There has been an ongoing edit war over whether his surname is Usbourne or Osbourne, no reliable source has yet been found to confirm either way (the official Channel 4 website uses both variants!) so based on WP:V it must he moved to a location that doesn't use either ChrisTheDude 20:34, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Survey edit

Add  # '''Support'''  or  # '''Oppose'''  on a new line in the appropriate section followed by a brief explanation, then sign your opinion using ~~~~. Please remember that this is not a vote; comments must include reasons to carry weight.
  1. Support getting far too fed up with all the edit warring ChrisTheDude 20:43, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
  2. Support, until we get a reliable source one way or the other. --McGeddon 21:01, 25 April 2007 (UTC)#Reply

Add any additional comments:
  1. Comment, it was written with a U on the letter in "Jurying" and this Guaridan article lists it with a U [1] the fact that the offcial site uses both is irritating though. Through this, I'm not going to support or object right now. Gran2 15:36, 27 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have confirmation edit

I actually decided to e-mail Channel 4 for the correct surname spelling, and they replied saying that it was "Osbourne". If anyone wants the email I'll happily forward it. And as proof I'm not just saying this, I've been an Usbourne supporter all along. Gran2 18:23, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

That's original research though, surely? So we can't use it anyway......... ChrisTheDude 22:39, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Quite apart from the fact that Channel 4 is only the broadcaster. An e-mail from the production company or - better still - the writers would carry more weight, but either way it's still OR. 23:27, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Character edit

Shouldn't there be a section on his personality, like his tendancey to convince himself that usually unacceptable things are okay, e.g. in series 3 when he gets the woman convicted of a crime when it is beneficial to him as he does not want to be involved in her weird sex. or locking mark in his room for a magic mushroom party, and other similarly childish like views on horrible things.

Recurring surname dispute edit

This is coming up again and again, despite in-page warnings. Perhaps it would be better to have a section specifically dealing with the conflicting evidence? As it stands, people keep turning up saying, "it's on the letter/subtitles/CD/whatever," probably giving weight to whatever they've seen in ignorance of all the others. Fictional atheist edit

I added Jeremy to Fictional atheists.

In Season 1 in particular when he's looking for a religion after hearing he may have an hereditary illness he eventually dismisses them as all "rubbish". Also when with his uncle ray whose just converted to christianity he says (in a voice over) that it's a shame all his cherished beliefs are rubbish. In Season 4 not much seems to have changed as when he's about to urinate on the church he mocks Richard Dawkins for talking the talk but not actually following through "with an act of piss". Jeremy edit

Sorry to be pedantic, but the information about Jeremy once being a nurse seems incorrect. In the job interview he does credit himself as having been a nurse, but is clearly a lie - Marks incredulous expression confirms this. May I suggest this is revised? 217.44.46.86 (talk) 19:41, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Revision to "Music" section edit

In episode 2 of Season 5, when Jez and Super Hans are listening to Barney's track. Jez states:

"I think that what's happening is 2 or maybe 3 different musical things, all at the same time."

Super Hans replies:

"This is the kinda thing we should be doing."

Just wondering if this is worth a mention in the music section. Also I was wondering if it would be good to mention the dispute between Jez and Super Hans regarding the name of the band they are in? Davidbhoy2805 (talk) 18:42, 6 December 2008 (UTC)Davybhoy2805Reply

Also wandering if the "Big Beat Manifesto" should be acknowledged? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidbhoy2805 (talkcontribs) 18:44, 6 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
