Talk:Jar (pelike) with Odysseus and Elpenor

Untitled edit

Peer Review:

Overall, the article has a lot of important information with only a few minor things that could help it.

The picture doesn't show up -- this is important since it is refereed to directly. In the first sentence you used a hyphen instead of a dash. The dash is two hyphens together. You use a direct quote. Is there anyway you can rephrase it? The first sentence in the "Physical Features" is a little awkward to read, could it be rephrased? Referring to 'you' or 'we' is uncomfortable to read. The last bullet point is off. Can this be fixed? The "Theme" paragraph has a couple of grammatical errors (i.e. missing commons).

Sunni's Comment edit

Hi Nadia, I think your article looks great! I would try and add a picture if you're able to find one. Maybe add one more paragraph on painting techniques or something specific to pelikes. Overall you're doing a great job! Sunniobrien (talk) 21:40, 14 November 2017 (UTC)Sunni O'BrienReply

Comments from Prof. Paga edit

Hi Nadia - this is a really good start! In addition to the comments from your peer-reviewer and TF, here are a few suggestions of my own.

  • Try to fix the broken image link. If you can't find a copyright appropriate image of your vase, try to find a comparison one (maybe a different pelike, or another vase/painting that shows Odysseus).
  • Add a lead paragraph (2-4 sentences) at the very top that summarizes your article.
  • Add hyperlinks to other Wikipedia articles throughout (ex: red figure, Classical Period, etc.). This will integrate your article into the broader realm of Wikipedia.
  • What do you mean "sad position" with respect to Odysseus' arm? I don't understand this.
  • You should relabel your "Physical Features" section as "Description."
  • Since you're in the Death group, it would be good to emphasize this part of your article. Perhaps add more information about how exactly Odysseus is communicating with the ghost, for instance.
  • The island where Elpenor dies is Circe's Island (not "the Circe Island") -- Circe is the witch that lives there.
