Preston's Myspace

edit

On Preston Lacy's αficial Myspace (Link found on jackassworld.com)He wrote down that he is one of the writers for the jackass franchise, and he goes on to state, Jackass the show, The Movie, Number Two, Jackass 2.5, and Jackass 3. Wait he said Jackass 3, is that credible evidence?Onepiece226 (talk) 17:00, 21 August 2008 (UTC)Onepiece226Reply

I suppose they were working on Jackass 3 at the time, 2 years before it premiered. Kinda moot question now. 174.214.28.25 (talk) 13:30, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Original Air Date

edit

I see April 2000 listed as the first air date, but I clearly remember it premiering on MTV in October 2000, and a search of news articles from that time will support it. So what's the reasoning behind the much earlier April date? 24.94.178.172 16:52, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

The pilot was broadcast in April 2000, then repeated in October as the first episode, followed by new episodes every week thereafter. 174.214.28.25 (talk) 13:26, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Peter the Great

edit

My comments about Peter the Great of Russia predating Jackass in their antics is not vandalism, it is historical fact. It is relevant here, because it is generally assumed that the members of Jackass are corrupting society, while Peter the Great did similar stunts and is responsible for the Westernisation of Russia. See Deptford for some info, and for a more full account, read "John Gribbin The Scientists (2002)" --Superoxen 06:18, 27 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok, it should still cite a source though. --Liface 06:34, 27 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
I don't understand this? From reading his wikipedia, how did Peter the Great predate Jackass at what they do? This makes no sense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.99.36.149 (talk) 20:03, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Injuries?

edit

It would make this article far more interesting and informative if there was a list of all known (moderate to serious) injuries involving various participants of Jackass. I refuse to do this myself because I am a lazy bastard loser. But, if you are an industrious winner, do it and be rewarded. 67.190.61.6 21:16, 30 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Too long. I like the idea, but it should be on a page/article by itself. I think every stunt they did resulted an injury... which was kinda the point of Jackass ;-) A few notable examples in a short section here might be good. Like Johnny Knoxville and his special relationship with the bull. He's always up in a bull in every movie and several episodes. In Jackass 4 he gets injured so badly that he vows he's not doing any more Jackass stunts ever again. Of course, he always says that. :-) 174.214.28.25 (talk) 13:41, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

DVD Release & Episode List

edit

I recently saw the jackass volumes 1-3 dvds, and was rather disappointed to find out that several bits which i had heard about were absent from the dvds ("abduction" & "night monkey 2" for example). So i came to this article to see if there was some explanation or reason, and possibly a list of skits or scenes not available on dvd, only to find that not only is there pretty much no mention of the dvds, but there isn't even an episode list for jackass, which wouldn't bother me, but wikipedia has articles that are lists of episodes for lots of shows, so i think that they should probably have a "List of Episodes of Jackass" article aswell as an addition to the Main Jackass article concerning the dvds and their differences from the broadcast episodes of jackass.69.213.152.159 04:09, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I concur. KiloT 17:59, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, off-topic, but Abduction and Night Monkey 2 are on the bonus DVD of the Jackass Collector's Box Set (The one with Volume 1, 2, 3 and the bonus disc) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.107.179 (talk) 10:09, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
There is now a list of episodes in a separate article HERE, each listing every stunt, and the DVDs (the original 3 plus the bonus disc, and also the "lost tapes" dvd) also listing every stunt, for comparison of differences. Abduction and Night Monkey 2 have been added to the list under the Bonus Disc, but the listing is incomplete. Someone needs to add the rest of the stunts that are on the Bonus Disc; I don't have it to view. 174.214.28.25 (talk) 14:33, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Lieberman

edit

Can we have a cite for the Lieberman information? The article lists the exact date that Lieberman first criticized the show. Where did that information come from? Clconway 04:24, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

It came from the Lieberman's press release on his government webpage at senate.gov. Now defunct of course. I suppose archive.org might still have it... Need a bot to link archive. 174.214.28.25 (talk) 14:38, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Cast List: Brandon is in main

edit

Brandon is credited as main cast in every episode. Just not in the movies. The show has 10 main cast members, the movie has nine. So he should be under the main cast list, not the additional cast list. Tylerco113x 03:04, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Brandon DiCamillo is in Jackass the movie and Jackass 2. He's listed in the article table under Recurring Cast, for the tv series and the movies. But should he really be listed as a main cast member? And others like Raab Himself? Dunno. 174.214.28.25 (talk) 14:47, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Jack Ass

edit

The second sentence about Jack Ass and his name change is irrelevant. It doesn't matter when he changed his name, if people wanted to know when they would go look at the citation. --Blckhawk1234 (talk) 02:50, 26 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's relevant to the paragraph, for notability. 174.214.28.25 (talk) 14:52, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Jackass 3

edit

Jackass 3 was confirmed to begin production in Jan. 2010 by Bam during the Sept. 21 2009 broadcast of Radio Bam (at the 34:00 mark). This should be updated in the article. Mac6698A (talk) 02:25, 24 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Done already. 174.214.28.25 (talk) 14:54, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Jack Ass can be like a sport. Fans enjoy creativity, and inventing sports that are fun, and don't have to get hurt as much is just one of the examples. Hope others can enjoy their backyard summer games as well. Thanks, Wikipedia. Beer Bottle Soccer Bowling. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.201.167.190 (talk) 14:44, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Stephanie Hodge

edit

Comment retrieved from WikiProject Jackass which is currently being discussed at MfD:

  • if anyone cares,I just found this current, somewhat in-depth article all about Stephanie Hodge.. I notice there is no wiki page about her (the only one I saw was for a stand-up comedienne of the same name) and I'm not sure if she's notable enough to even have a wiki article (after reading the above section, it seems as if there was once one, but other than the above convo, I didn't see any other evidence of one ever existing) but thought I would post the link anyways, just for those who may be interested [1] User:Chanceska (talk) 23:01, 5 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

The Stephanie Hodge article was deleted in August 2010 due to notability concerns and this was posted in case anybody thinks its worth resurecting the artice. Just posting it here so in case the wikiproject gets deleted and the info is lost. Bob House 884 (talk) 15:08, 12 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Dickhouse split

edit

Since Dickhouse is not responsible solely for Jackass or its spinoffs (Loiter Squad), shouldn't it be split into its own page instead of redirecting here? --ChrisP2K5 (talk) 07:34, 2 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

agreed,or atleast give dickhouse its own section and have it redirect to that section --Stewievader2 (talk) 09:28, 20 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

What does this sentence mean?

edit

"It is mentioned in the Jackass: Number Two commentary that the stunt where several members get punched in the face by a spring-loaded boxing glove hidden behind a fake valentine on a wall had just come upstairs from shooting a promo for the video game." Equinox 18:02, 16 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

About one of the episodes

edit

Could you add the part in the controversies section about, in one episode, where two of the Jackass crew interact with the strangers’ small boy, where they force him to smoke and teach him how to be edgy, such as cussing? The reason I asked is b because that is the most infamous moment I ever watched, that made me cringed in fury. Those two idiots should not done that to that little kid, it’s definitely illegal! They’d end up sent in jail for child abuse! Wiki-Ikiw (talk) 20:03, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Making you cringe is not notable, even in fury... If you can find reliable sources that also cringed and commented upon the notoriety of the section - then it could be added. Chaheel Riens (talk) 20:31, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

'Steve-O: Guilty as Charged' as a "part" of the franchise

edit

this paragraph has existed for quite some time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackass_(franchise)#Steve-O:_Guilty_as_Charged_(2016)

The special hasn't been released under the Jackass branding, no references in the intro screens or credits (Amazon stream). My edit was reverted, perhaps due to an automated tool. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:14BA:10F3:1700:0:0:0:1 (talk) 15:58, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

I reverted your deletion of the entire paragraph, because the film's inclusion in this article was valid, just in the wrong section. There is a section for "Related Films" that don't have the Jackass branding. I've moved it there. 97.32.0.176 (talk) 03:06, 15 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

See Also / Influences

edit

I note the 'See Also' section has been renamed 'Influences', and some text added back in.

I note also that _no references have been added_.

The removed material was removed in good faith as a 'See Also' list, per the Wikipedia Manual of Style, is simply that. A list. And I did that as the simplest way to make the material meet the bar for being included in the article, as there is a lower bar for 'See Also' than there would be for 'Influences'.

I have, therefore, re-added the unreferenced tag to the 'Influences' section. And I would suggest that references should be added in short order where found, especially given that the 'See Also' section lacked references for a number of years prior.

I am also side-eyeing the fact that by simply renaming the 'See Also' section as 'Influences' means that a number of shows or groups are listed whose founding actually pre-dates Jackass. Which is clearly misleading.

If the section isn't improved with references, I will either revert it to the 'See Also' section, or remove it entirely. H. Carver (talk) 23:57, 16 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
