yl ≠ ane edit

Shouldn't the first 3 be a 2? —Tamfang (talk) 07:08, 11 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

When I was little we were taught at school that the 2- designation for the methyl in this molecule would be redundant. edit

What other position could it possibly be at and still be called a butane? --122.111.254.165 (talk) 20:39, 16 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

The two is redundant, however, it is not incorrect to use it. Plasmic Physics (talk) 00:08, 17 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Isomers observed edit

Why is it only in this form, and not in its mirror image (i.e., the result when we reflect through the plane equidistant from the two methyl groups attached to the carbon)?
