Evocation of spirits - concerns edit

Regarding what is said under the section "Evocation of spirits" I have the following comments:

Where is the author getting this from? Is there a verse in the Quran or any Hadith to backup these claims? Which Islamic text mention these planets (i.e. Jupiter) and refer to them for such purpose?

Merge proposal edit

I propose merging Superstitions in Muslim societies into Islam and magic. The concept of superstition is in academic discourse closely related to the concept of magic. Accordingly, practises deemed "out of fashion" or "syncretic" are often considered "magical" in contrast to "religious" retroperspective. An accurate depiction of "magical beliefs" is also a history of superstitions. To ensure WP:NPOV and to avoid Synthesis of material, I recommand to merge these two articles. "recommand"? Anyway, there are significant differences between the two articles. For example,
"... one finds in North African and Middle Eastern bookstalls the handbooks for practitioners of the occult. These include the traditional handbooks as well as modern compilations based on them, such as the innumerable books written by 'Abd al-Fattah al-Sayyid al-Tukhi ..." (from HARRY POTTER IN THE GULF)
Whatever academics may discourse, it would seen there is a big difference between supernatural you read and study, and practices like not stepping on sidewalk cracks or avoiding things associated with the number 13 --Louis P. Boog (talk) 20:58, 8 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Articles about superstition and magic cover both the description of practise as well as the related literature. I cannot follow your arguement. VenusFeuerFalle (talk) 02:40, 10 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
