Infobox and lead

edit
  • Marcia "Misha" Sondeijker → Marcia Sondeijker, as songwriters are listed under real names
  • Wikilink Ireland
  • "Marcia "Misha" Sondeijker, and" → "Marcia "Misha" Sondeijker and" since the article is in British English
  • "at the 2019 contest in" → "at the contest in"
  • Mention the campaign against the country's participation, as those who ran that signify notability in the lead
  • Also add a mention of the song's music video
  • Remove first half part since that is too much detail for here
  • Target second semi-final to Eurovision Song Contest 2019#Semi-final 2
  • Remove the countries it comes before and after because that is not notable for the lead
  • "and subsequently failed to" → "and subsequently failing to"
  • "the Grand Final." → "the grand final." with the target

Background

edit
  • "Prior to the 2019 Contest," → "Prior to the 2019 contest,"
  • Wikilink Eurovision Song Contest
  • [1] should be solely at the end of the paragraph since it backs everything up; I appreciated the good faith in using [2] for the 2018 contest but the former mentions that info already
  • "to win the contest" → "to win the Eurovision Song contest" because it is mentioned that the country is the first to win the contest three times in a row, not only
  • "for final for" → "for the grand final for" with the target
  • The song title should be in speech marks and remove the comma
  • "In October, it was" → "In October 2018, it was"
  • "for Eurovision 2019." → "for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019."
  • The West Bank and Gaza parts are not sourced
  • "from the country's third" → "from Ireland's third"
  • The petition is mentioned, but not attributed to the party
  • Remove comma after Simon Coveney

Before Eurovision

edit

Internal selection

edit
  • Mention her full name on the img text
  • "RTÉ confirmed their" → "Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) confirmed their" with the wikilink
  • Lowercase the Saturdays per MOS:THEMUSIC
  • "former X Factor contestant Janet Devlin, however" → "former X Factor contestant Janet Devlin; however," with the target
  • "Ireland in Tel Aviv." → "Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv."
  • Remove wikilink on Eurovision Song Contest 2018
  • "selected by various" → "which was selected by various"
  • It is not sourced that the song was uploaded to YouTube
  • "Spotify and iTunes on 29 March." → "Spotify and iTunes on 29 March 2020." with the wikilinks

Promotion

edit
  • Wikilink music video
  • "and featured McTernan" → "that features McTernan"

At Eurovision

edit
  • Img should have a full-stop for consistency, plus target second semi-final to Eurovision Song Contest 2019#Semi-final 2 and wikilink Tel Aviv
  • Change 2019 Eurovision Song Contest to Eurovision Song Contest 2019 but no wikilink
  • The dates are not properly written out and the order is incorrect; please see Albania and re-write accordingly
  • Remove dash from Expo Tel-Aviv
  • Remove wikilink on Tel Aviv
  • "According to Eurovision rules, all nations" → "According to the Eurovision rules, all participating nations" with the target
  • "the "Big 5"" → "the "Big Five"" with the target per MOS:LINK2SECT
  • Target the countries in brackets to their respective articles for participation in the Eurovision Song Contest
  • "are required to qualify from one of two" → "were required to qualify from one of the two"
  • "for the final; the top ten countries" → "for the grand final; however, the top 10 countries" per MOS:NUM
  • Most of the sentence about neighbourly voting is unsourced, plus is this really notable; the Albania article did not mention it?
  • Target second semi-final to Eurovision Song Contest 2019#Semi-final 2
  • "by the shows' producers" → "by the producers of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019"
  • "another draw, this was done" → "another draw; this was done"
  • Merge the last para with the second one
  • "while the final was" → "while the grand final was" with the target
  • "were commented by" → "featured commentary from"
  • The Radio 1 sentence is not backed up

Semi-final

edit
  • "On 16 May, Ireland performed in" → "On 16 May 2020, Ireland performed 18th in"
  • It is not sourced that she was spinning on a diner table
  • "in the final." → "in the grand final."
  • "that country placed last (eighteenth) in" → "that the country placed last at number 18 in"
  • "and 13 points from" → "and 13 from"

Voting

edit
  • [27] should be solely at the end of the para
Points awarded to Ireland
edit
  • Good
Points awarded by Ireland
edit
  • Good
Split voting results
edit
  • Paddy McKenna – Chairperson → Paddy McKenna (Chairperson)
  • (final) → (Final)

OGAE Poll

edit
  • "founded in 1984 in" → "that was founded in 1984 in"
  • "non-political, and non-profit" → "non-political and non-profit" with the target, but these "non" parts are unsourced
  • Merge the last para with the first since it's only two sentences
  • "45 clubs have voted." → "45 clubs voted."
  • "ranked 30th (last) joint with" → "ranked joint last at number 30, with"
  • The final three sentences of this section are unsourced
Points awarded by Ireland
edit
  • No source(s)

References

edit
  • Copyvio score looks decent at 30.6%
  • Archive all of these by using the tool
  • Replace ref 1 with the correct URL
  • Remove Eurovision.tv from all the refs that cite it and replace with European Broadcasting Union, citing as publisher
  • Cite INFE Network as publisher instead for refs 3, 4 and 5
  • Esctoday → ESCToday on ref 6, citing as publisher instead
  • Cite wiwibloggs as publisher instead for ref 7 with the wikilink and fix MOS:QWQ issues; do the same for refs 12 and 14 with no wikilink
  • Cite wiwibloggs as publisher instead for refs 8, 15 and 25
  • Cite RTÉ as publisher instead for ref 9 and target to Raidió Teilifís Éireann
  • Cite ESCKAZ as publisher instead for ref 11
  • www.youtube.com → YouTube on ref 13, citing as publisher with the wikilink and remove the title; do the same for ref 17
  • Cite ESCToday as publisher instead for ref 16
  • Cite both the original and archive URLs for refs 19, 22 and 23, plus switch web.archive.org for the actual publishers; this means removing RTE from the title of ref 22
  • Ref 22 does not load anything on the website apart from the header and title
  • Remove ogae.net from ref 29
  • Replace webcitation with archives from the wayback machine for refs 29 and 30 because the site is blacklisted

Final comments and verdict

Hi @Canadianhockeyfan79: let me know if you need any help addressing these issues. More than happy to assist if you don't have the time at the moment. You could also ask K Peake for some additional time if you think you'll be able to finish up in the next few days. Grk1011 (talk) 16:34, 31 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hello @Grk1011: Thank you so much for offering to help! I was planning to finish today as I just have a few things to finish. However, there are a couple things I need a little bit of help in addressing:
  • First is getting the image of Sarah McTernan at Eurovision to "Full Stop Consistency"
  • I also need help putting the reference for the OGAE results inside the actual template box, instead of by the heading like I did.
  • I just need to clean up the references now, but I may need some help with archiving the references.
Thank you so so much for offering to help! I'm so grateful! Canadianhockeyfan79 (talk) 21:39, 31 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure what you mean about the photo? I fixed your table reference issue and made some tweaks to the other tables to better align them with MOS:ACCESS. I was somewhat confused about how the OGAE section works. Who is casting the votes from Ireland? Is it their local branch of OGAE or like an online poll of people in Ireland? Canadianhockeyfan79 and Grk1011, the full-stop consistency issue was about how there was not a full-stop at the end of one image's text when the other had one and since that's only minor, I copyedited it in and assured to archive all of the links by using the tool.  Pass now, after co-operation from Grk who has been a great Eurovision contributor and some copyediting from me! --K.
