Interpretation of schizophrenia article

edit

Some mental health professionals believe that, after a century of disappointment in the medical studies of schizophrenia, non biological models of the disorder are worth revisiting. —Cesar Tort 18:44, 27 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have not idea what the following sentence means, it appears not to be grammatically correct:
"Arieti writes that whatever occurs to the patient is interpreted as willed by the parental alters of the patient."
Could someone make this clear or i shall remove it. Rockpocket (talk) 04:53, 6 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

No anti-psychiatrist

edit

I have removed the “Antipsychiatry” category from this article since Arieti used to send some of his patients to the ECT ward. —Cesar Tort 14:15, 9 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Why the anti-psychiatry label?

edit

Arieti himself was a supporter of physical therapies(anti-psychotic medication, and especially Electroconvulsive therapy, which he used on hebephrenics frequently), as mentioned previously on this page, and was never associated with the anti-psychiatry group unlike Szasz and Laing. I think the anti-psychiatry label should be removed as Arieti was obviously not involved with that movement. Theoverfloater (talk) 14:03, 25 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Expansion of the article

edit

I just finished reading all 700 pages of Interpretation of Schizophrenia, the second edition, and felt that this article could use an expansion with more information from the book and better explanations of Arieti's theories and their application on his patients. I hope you find the edits to be of suitable quality. Theoverfloater (talk) 22:11, 25 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
