Talk:Inner suburb

Neutrality edit

This article is written like a soapbox right now. The article focuses on a small portion of inner suburbs and is very unbalanced. There are sweeping generalizations about being ignored by the government and receiving no funding. Due to the wide variety in suburbs this article might be hard to write but I don't know if it should be deleted. This article needs to be rewritten possibly without the large list of unsourced inner suburbs. ~ Eóin (talk) 01:50, 24 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Name of page edit

Perhaps this page needs to be called Inner Suburbs in The United States. - Yaris678 (talk) 22:25, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's a good point. Perhaps you could ask WP:CITIES for a wider discussion. Caulde 20:53, 5 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Listed Connecticut Towns edit

FYI - All of the CT towns listed in the article are a part of lower Fairfield County, Connecticut and are considered to be part of the inner ring of suburbs to NYC. These towns are noted as the Gold Coast of CT. There are other CT towns and cities that are also suburbs of NYC but are not part of the inner ring. Please see the attached links. Even though the listed CT towns have a low pop density does not dispute the fact that the towns are considered to be part of the inner ring suburbs of NYC. All of the listed towns are commonly considered to be part of this group. There is no restriction on town size in this article. Therefore, I have undone the recent change regarding the listed CT towns. JACKSONIAN3623 (talk) 17:03, 4 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

The list is a poor idea in any case. Glen Cove, for example, is listed while dozens of nearby places more inner are not. No, I am not suggesting justice for those not yet listed. The list should either be abolished, or separated as a new artice, List of inner suburbs in the United States. In the latter case, editors who think it unfair to omit a qualifying place can make the necessary additions, without expanding the present article to absurd length. Australia edit

The list of places for Australia looks dubious, for the ACT the only correct one appears to be Braddon, and all the others are more like outer suburbs. Some areas might be called town centres, but not inner suburbs. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 03:31, 8 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
