I was like Whaaa... you can have two people nominate? Anyways, I'll be reviewing this article. GeraldWL 04:54, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

References edit

These issues seem to be only visible to me, I could just fix it myself but taking it here first to see if y'all think it's needed.

  • Ref 3's publisher is Time Out Group. GeraldWL 05:34, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
      Done ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:19, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Normally if the credit goes to the news or website's staff, I don't include it as there's no distinct authors other than the "staff." Referring to ref 5 and 6. GeraldWL 05:34, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Agreed.   Done ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:21, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Ref 11's publisher is Guardian Media Group. GeraldWL 05:34, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Ref 17's publisher is Paper Communications. GeraldWL 05:34, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Gerald Waldo Luis: Template:Cite web says of the publisher field: Not normally used for periodicals. Omit where the publisher's name is substantially the same as the name of the work (for example, The New York Times Co. publishes The New York Times newspaper, so there is no reason to name the publisher).
I omitted the publisher in these instances because the works are periodicals. I don't mind adding in the ones that are not substantially the same as the name of the work, but the template documentation would preclude mention of those such as Guardian Media Group and The New York Times Company. Armadillopteryx 05:40, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Armadillopteryx, I see. I usually put, like, all parameters known, but that makes sense too. GeraldWL 06:37, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Gerald Waldo Luis Oops! I added all these because I started going down the list before seeing this discussion. I don't feel strongly about whether or not publishers fields should be added as part of the GA review process. Editors will add or remove these over time. I've added them but invite either of you to remove the ones you deem unnecessary. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:30, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Another Believer and Gerald Waldo Luis: I removed the publishers that have substantially the same name as the works, since the template documentation explicitly says not to include these. Armadillopteryx 15:05, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Armadillopteryx, Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:06, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Description edit

I'll have to spend some time for TV with my fam. I'll come back later with more stuff (as expected). GeraldWL 06:44, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Gerald Waldo Luis, Thanks for your many reviews of restaurant/bar GA nominations. I have a couple more in the queue and I hope you will consider reviewing Armadillopteryx's other nominations as well. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:07, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Another Believer, thanks, I love doing these stuffs. I will be semi-active until Friday ICT cause of stuff, but concluding this week is Decem-freaking-ber, so I'll be able to do more nominations... if I can. GeraldWL 02:57, 10 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Second check edit

History edit

  • 5 statements using multiple citations, one of which is overkill. Any way to treat them? GeraldWL 03:36, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
I removed one citation from the sentence that had three; now every sentence has only one or two. Armadillopteryx 03:48, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Link landlord? GeraldWL 03:36, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
      Done Armadillopteryx 03:48, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • What is a rotating cast? Like, replacable casts as said in this forum? GeraldWL 03:36, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
It means that there's a pool of performers (say, 10) from which a few (say, 4) are chosen every week. The lineup changes a little bit from week to week, but it's always from he same group of people. Armadillopteryx 03:48, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Armadillopteryx, thanks for clarifying! GeraldWL 03:53, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Reception edit

  • Link New York (magazine)? Seems like it hasn't. GeraldWL 03:36, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
It's linked in the Description section (but actually, it was linked on the second mention, so I've switched it to the first). Armadillopteryx 03:52, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Whilst searching "midown," I got the result of Midtown Manhattan. Is it referring to Midtown? If so, it must be fixed with square brackets. GeraldWL 03:36, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes, and thanks for catching the typo! I've added the Wikilink and fixed the spelling. Per WP:SIC, simple typographical errors can simply be fixed: insignificant spelling and typographic errors should simply be silently corrected (for example, correct "basicly" to "basically"). Armadillopteryx 03:52, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
(How many policies do I still haven't read wow) GeraldWL 04:08, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • "He stated" is getting a bit bland here. Suggest changing to "He opined" GeraldWL 03:36, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
That's one option ... I thought that maybe "remarked" sounded good and added that. Do you think that's okay? Armadillopteryx 03:52, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Armadillopteryx, that sounds chic. GeraldWL 03:54, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Final thoughts edit

Armadillopteryx, I did a final edit, see if that's fine for you. Overall this has   Passed the GA criteria in my view. Waiting for your response, then I'll close this review page. GeraldWL 04:56, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Gerald Waldo Luis: Mm ... I'm not sure how necessary it is, since the History section begins with the story of the owners opening Barracuda. What do you think? Armadillopteryx 05:01, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Armadillopteryx, Maybe the issue is we mention Barracuda in the Description section before readers get to the History section? ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:07, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
I think, ideally, we'd have a passing mention of ownership before we compare Barracuda and Industry Bar, so that the Notes section is not required. ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:09, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
That sounds ideal. Removing Bara mention in Description would be a good implementation. GeraldWL 05:11, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
I mean, I guess, sure—but it's worth noting that the mention in question is wikilinked. I'll go take a look at it. Armadillopteryx 05:15, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Armadillopteryx, Your change works for me! ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:19, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) Cool, thanks! I basically just followed Gerald's suggestion to simply cut out that part of the quote; now Barracuda's first mention in the body doesn't come until the History section. Armadillopteryx 05:21, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Armadillopteryx, seems to be fine now, Comrades. The green circle should be up soon after I'm having lunch as New York's in the dark. GeraldWL (Pine wish!) 05:38, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
