TAMU/Seattle Seahawks licensing agreement
editA single-purpose editor has twice interjected the following:
The 12th Man addition to the ring was the last to be added in the RCA Dome, and is currently in violation of the agreement in place between Texas A&M and the Seattle Seahawks regarding the use of the trademarked term.[1]
There appear to be at least two problems with assertion as written:
- The above citation doesn't mention the Colts, at all.
- The Colts are NOT a party to the referenced licensing agreement. Therefore they can't be in violation "of the agreement" to which they are not a party.
In parallel, the deluge of anon IP edits, sock puppets, and single-purpose accounts has pushed the associated 12th man (football) article into semi-protected status.
I have replaced the existing citation with [citation needed] and we can proceed from that response. UW Dawgs (talk) 02:41, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
Colts Nation
editWhen they removed the 12th Man reference as part of the settlement with Texas A&M, they replaced it with "Colts Nation" on the Ring of Honor and then retroactively presented it as if it was that which was placed, to the point where news articles mention it being inducted the same year the 12th Man originally was. An example of this is this article from the team website last year when Dwight Freeney was announced. [2]
