Some edit

Some clever Koreans have shown that the association between low cholesterol and hemorrhagic stroke is probably due to alcohol consumption: BMJ JFW | T@lk 21:33, 6 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Redirect edit

Should we add a redirect for "low cholesterol" to point to this page? WhatamIdoing (talk) 04:26, 4 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

The reference to Mevalonate inhibition has been added to separate the quite distinct natural hypocholesterolemia diseases from those which are medically induced by the rise in inappropriate statin usage in both elderly and healthy patients. Glynwiki (talk) 07:27, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

We are seeing article in press with pubmed indexed medical journals addressing a lot of clinical consequences of medically induced hypocholesterolemia now that long term statin use with broader criteria (including preventative use) are established and the problem of under reporting and and use of cholesterol lowering as an unchallenged Surrogate endpoints in lieu of proper all-cause Mortality rate data in clinical trials.
