Comments from AFC Process edit

  •   Comment: See comments of reviewer, who notes that it is the application of these differential equations that may be significant, rather than the equations themselves, but that the references do not appear to substantiate moving this to article space. This draft may be resubmitted after expansion to show how the functions are useful in applications. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:20, 24 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
  •   Comment: I have fixed capitalization (no capitalization for "hyperbolistic") and latex (use of \tanh and \operatorname{\arsinh}, removing \times) in two sections. The same has to be done in other sections.
About the content: This article is about a specific class of differential equations, which are not specially interesting or notable from a mathematical point of view. As a mathematician, I am unable to decide whether these models are notable in application fields, but I think that this is the main criterion for deciding whether this article can be moved to the main space. Nevertheless, I have not found in the references any reliable secondary source allowing to establish this notability. D.Lazard (talk) 11:20, 24 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
  •   Comment: A review is being requested at WikiProject Mathematics.
It isn't clear to a reviewer who has forgotten all of the higher math that he learned fifty years ago why these functions are useful.
Why are the called hyperbolastic functions? Are they related to hyperbolic functions or to hyperbolae? Robert McClenon (talk) 03:24, 24 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

One More Thing edit

User:WhatamIdoing commented, at WikiProject Medicine, that this content should be in article space. In that case, I am going ahead and accepting the content, and a deletion discussion or merge discussion can consider whether this should be in this article or somewhere else in article space. Extensive revisions have been made to this article since the last submission. Is it possible to remove the tags from the page, and move it to article space? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dwilus (talkcontribs) 19:07, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
The article is in the article space, no need to move it. For the tags, you can remove them yourself and see if there are objections. For me, this will be OK, except that some more explanations would be welcome. The usage of these functions is clear, but the reasons of this particular choice of functions remain unclear. But this is a WP:C-class article, not yet a WP:Good article. D.Lazard (talk) 20:14, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
I was wondering if we had any control over how the article is accessed. When searching through other various search engines, it seems the article can only be accessed through the talk page, rather than directly linking to the article itself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dwilus (talkcontribs) 15:30, 31 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia's search engine refers to the article. For external search engines, this may take some times, as research engines generally give a low priority for indexing pages that are less accessed. In any case, Wikipedia cann not control them. D.Lazard (talk) 16:31, 31 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
